Short or Long Kurtis with Lehanga?

Hi Friends,
I am new here and will be getting married in Pakistan this November (Inshallah). Can anyone tell me what kind of kurtis are in with bridal lehangas? Long or short?

my cousin got married in nov and she wore a short one.. Short ones look way better with lenhngas specially when its a bridal lehnga

Yeah long kurtas wit lengha look kinda old fashoined and paindu.. I prefer shorter kameezes (not bellybaring), with a slightly fitted lengha :cb:

i personally like short ones, but i reccently went to a wedding and the bride had a longer shirt [a few inches above the knee], and because she was tall I thought that she pulled it off rather nicely.....but i think it depends on the person, if i tried it i wouldn't look as good.

I agree its totally a personal thing.. u can always try both long and short... just get the darzee to make u two kurtis or try it at home..

short kurtis are in for bridal lehngas.

Ghararas have longer shirts usually -- lenghas and shararas shorter shirts (around waist).

Thanks a ton! I’ll have my fitting next month n have asked for a long kurti trial so they will just stitch the lining and i’ll get a short one if long one doesn’t look good..i am going for a mermaid shape lehanga :slight_smile: thrfore will try the long one first. oh n i’m 5’7:halo:

hope it all goes well, by the way where are you from and are you getting ur dress made from pak or not… and if by pak have you used any particular designer…

also what colour is your outfit…

Hi princess,

I'm not in pak . I live in Thailand and I am getting my dress made hr. I haven't gone to any designer. I have designed it myself with the help from my mom :) Call me a freak but tht's wht i am going for :) i want something simple but elegant.

So using thai silk and kurti has peach color lining with net over it..which has bronze/copper emoridery and olive green and sharbati color bead work. while lehanga is bronze/cooper mermaid style. n guess wht mom is doing all the bead and sequence work on dupatta, lehanga n even kurti . so it's gone go to be a home made wedding dress :) something very special to me for my special day.

I have my fingers crossed :) n if i go for a long kurti then i was thinkign abt getting pants made tht i can wear later on. I don't want my dress to be just sitting in a box.

wow.....your al the way in thiland and that is great that yourr mum is making it its going to be so sentimental..........

it sounds amazing the colour seems sounds good too..........do post some pics when it all done.......
