okay so whenever i see brides …they have long hair (or so it seems) that have been pulled back into a bun…
i would really like to see how a bride’s hair is managed if she has really short hair? are there different hairstyles that a short-haired bride can sport and still look awesome on her day? or do they normally end up getting extensions or something?
I think as long as you can get the stylist to give your hair height and volume so that it doesn't flatten out when the dupatta is pinned, it doesn't matter if your hair is long or short.
I think the great things about desi brides and their duppattas is that no one needs to know the lenght of your hair if you dont want them to. Slicking back the hair (or side bangs) with a duppatta gives the impression of longer hair. If youre not happy with just the illusion you can always add a fake piece such as a fake bun or longer (open or braided) extentions.
Most salons these days do a great job with extensions but if youre planning loose extensions I would advise you to check out the extensions, or buy them yourself before hand to make sure theyre not cheap and fake looking.

how wud u get height and volume for short hair? /confused
Are you talking pixie cut short or bob short? If by short you mean pixie cut, then generally extensions or a fake bun would be the only option to create height under a dupatta. I don't know though, some ppl don't believe in extensions cause they aren't allowed in Islam.
As for bob cut, it's pretty simple. There's something hairstylists call a rat-roll or a hair foundation. Basically, they would back-comb your hair, place it undernath and pin the ends of your hair over it to create height.
