What are the best places to go to for shopping in Manchester?
Re: Shopping in Manchester

Re: Shopping in Manchester
for desi shopping..manchester is not like a great great place as london, birmingham or southall but
- Wilmslow road , Rusholme is pretty good
- Lonsight has worth seeing shops too
- Cheetham Hill is another option though I haven't been there myself
for otherwise:
City centre and the Arndale shopping mall are probably the best places to shop.
Another great option would be Cheshire oaks (designer outlet village) a little in the outskirts of Manchester. They have all the good brands but with slightly cheaper prices :)
Re: Shopping in Manchester
City Centre and Arndale are good, but you have to go outside for the big department stores like Selfridges and Harvey Nichols and the designer shops like, so if the weather isn’t too great then be sure to have an umbrella on you! Here’s some websites which have listings of stores:
Manchester Arndale: http://www.manchesterarndale.com/
The Avenue: http://www.theavenuemanchester.com/shopping/ (I <3 the Mulberry shop there!)
Outside of the city centre and indoors is The Trafford Centre: http://www.traffordcentre.co.uk/ much better for if the weather’s not too good and has plenty of places to eat too!

What about exchange square? How far would trafford centre be from the city centre?
Re: Shopping in Manchester
Manchester shopping sucked, hence my post.

Selfridges and Harvey Nichs are in Exchange Square and that's right next to the Arndale Centre.
Trafford Centre is about a 20/30 minute drive away from the city centre, I'd suggest you do both on different days to make the most of all the shops.

Re: Shopping in Manchester
dont know if it is too late to reply. For Trafford Centre, you can take a bus from manchester picc gardens (city centre). The good thing is that Trafford is open till 10:00pm and has a cinema as well which plays the latest bollywood movies!
