saaaadiaaaa update karo thread ko ![]()
^Ok ghussa mat karo ... here is my update.
As being pregnant I could not take long rides, so I mostly stayed near Saddar Rawalpindi for shopping this time and it proved to be a good idea, I am satisfied.
Near Cerose Cinema in Saddar (opposite where Ghakker Plaza was) Bank Road, there are some shops where u can buy DVDs, artifical jewellery, some books, toys and eat some good Pakistani food.
If you go in this lane you come to some shops that sell mostly lawn cloths, I found one shop that had the sign Gul Ahmed Lawn 2009 collection available on the window and went inside to have a look, the name of the shop is “Fashion Co Lawrencepur Cloths Merchant”, they sold the new collection and had some other lawns and the best thing, they had a good tailor, buy the cloth from them and they will stitch it and you can collect your suits the next evening. Once I was satisfied with some simple lawn suits samples I gave them all my cloths to sew and they turned out to be good, even if some fitting was needed, they would just redo it to your satisfaction, very customer oriented and very nice and humble ppl. We even talked to them; they now know my choice / liking and will send me stuff abroad if I order
For ready made I found Pehchan Mall in Kashmir Road Saddar to be quite good, I found 5 ready made suits from them. They have great gent and kids cloths also and also a shoe shop. Kharighar shop right next door is now just crap, the bald man is doing advertisement everywhere for his shop but his cloths is; excuse me for the phrase paindu.
A new chic shop has opened, called the Brand City and they have good party wear shoes and bags.
Basically in Saddar you will find anything, just look around or ask some shops people there, its like if you want shoes, there will be 3-4 shoe shops in one lane ect….
For food Rahat bakery is very good.
The Idea plaza next to KFC Saddar for Gul Ahmed collection and stuff. I visited the ShaPosh shop the last time, this time I didn’t.
Now for other stuff, silk is sold in China Market, here there was so much variarity that it confused me, so you have to know what you want.
And then Moti bazaar for small things like artifical jewellery where as I am kind of picky and didn’t like their party sets, just got some bangles from there.
Of course my visit to the Choudhry store in Moti bazaar for bed sets, cushion covers is a must, even this time.
And then I found this shop in Moti bazaar called Huma Fashion, shop #C-29 St # 2 , I got some party wear unstitched suits with Kaam on it and it was cheaper then getting it done by a kharighar, but one big stone came off, so I have to glue that back again, this shop is good if you have a budget and don’t want to spend a leg and arm for fancy cloths that you will wear once or twice.
I went to Mohsin & sons, and they say atleast one month to make orders, so I left, its not that I am getting my jeehaz done.
And there was the old Qila next to Urdu bazaar (in Raja bazaar area), oh my God that they had good stuff, but then again you can get stuff custom made, but you need time for that, and it was like heavy bridal stuff but quite nice, so if you have time and need bridal stuff, definitely go there.
As for beauty palour, I went twice to get some threading done in some no names, in Saddar the prices are like sky high and you pay for a facial like something around 2000 Rs. I didn’t do any, just bought the stuff myself and did it at home myself and I didn’t trust their hygienic there, I would rather get my facial from an Indian lady here done.
My resume, Pindi shopping has gotten better, some new shops have opened and I don’t think the prices are that high for us. I avoid Murree road because of traffic and pollution. Moti Bazaar area is congested also, but once u are there, it’s a covered area, avoid going there at the beginning of the month when everyone get their pay, (lesson well learned). Do try their chaat and dahi baley there, even though I found a fly in my fruit chaat plate … yuk!
Barra Market for dry fruits, masalas, chai and other food items.
Oh yes for gold jewellery I went to my family jeweller, I got something custom made and he delivered in 2 weeks, he is in Sarafa bazaar in Pindi.
That’s all for now, if I remember anything else, I will add here.
