Hi All,

I am moving to newyork after rukhsati. what are the essentials I need to shop as a bride… kindly suggest… I hav no relative or friend to take guidance from… I am going to live with my hubby alone … my inlaws are settled in karachi..

I just cant have an idea what stuff i shud shop for that ill be needing there???

suggestions plz…

You will need your basic undergarment, basic female product that can last you at least a month (You don't want to make your hubby go shopping the first week you are here.) Take a set of good towels for yourself and hubby (if you have space.) If you hubby lives by himself chances are he doesn't have much of the cooking stuff. You can take cooking pots and pans from Karachi (American cookware is avlb. but you will need an expensive set to last long...compare to the one you get in Karachi for much less.) You can also bring bed sheets if you want…and even a comforter set (GulAhmed’s stuff is really nice, their largest fits a king size bed here…but make sure you know the size of his bed.)
Clothese wise, depends if you husband to be has a large group of desi friends. Bring outfits according to the size of his friend group.

Don't botter getting the winter coats or jacket from Karachi...they won't be much help in New Yorks winter. You will be better off buying that stuff once here.

You will need winter clothing items, which are everywhere once you're in N.America. If you're worried about feeling homesick, bring things to decorate your house similar to your home now. Bring desi clothes, but you will always be able to find some in larger cities like New York. It will be cold in New York, so bring warmer clothing. But it gets very hot in the summer!
