Re: shopping@Greenstreet
Are you going to Ilford Lane as well? There's more Pakistani style stuff there and it's only 10/15mins from Green Street.. Check out Beejees, Imani, Phulkari..
Green Street is nice but it's more Indian and Bengali style.. I love Daminis but it's more for formal wear.. there's also Henna Mehndi..
Re: shopping@Greenstreet
Btw has anyone heard of Zarsh Boutique? I’ve just tried ringing them to try and order a lace saree but no-one’s answering the landline or mobile number
Re: shopping@Greenstreet
What Deeba said. Ilford Lane costs more but they have waaaay nicer stuff, and more Pakistani-oriented stuff. You can pick up ready made outfits like Threads and Motifs from a Phulkari or Rubys, which both carry designer outfits. Otherwise Seasons do readymade outfits for older women, or stitch them for you.
If you have more to spend, Gul Style is pretty nice and has amazing fabric, I've bought a few from there for my mum. Otherwise Gul Mohar (further down the road) in Ilford Lane is decent too.
For Green Street, try Banos (their stitching is not cheap but really good), Daminis is nice but overpriced in my opinion. Umm, Henna Mehndi has good casuals and semi-formals, otherwise just have a good browse around, sometimes you can pick up bargains in shops like Mahir or Bombay Looks. It does depend on your taste, Green street has a lot of Indian style outfits which people go for. Oh there's an RDC in Green Street worth checking out, they have nice kurtas and casual outfits which I like.
