Obviously depends where you are staying, but BOMBAY is good for shopping....try the CROSSROADS shopping centre, but there are also some very good other centres opened now.
Also, SURAT is very good for shopping

“International Trade Fair” is held in Pargati Maidan, New Delhi between 14-27 Nov., if you are coming to New Delhi between 14-27 this month so you can enjoy shopping there. You can get almost everything what ever you want from different different international stalls, including pakistani products & items from their stalls. There r enough shopping places, malls in New Delhi & Guragoan for your A-Z shopping.
Here you can watch some places and take idea what you can get in New Delhi, Gurgaon etc.

Bombay is the best place for shopping … all the big boutiques like Sheetal (Verification), Ritu Kumar, (http://www.ritukumar.com/ ), Roopam(http://www.roopam.com/), Maxim Styles (Website) http://www.maximstyles.com/home/contactus.htm
I am from Surat(Gujarat) and I know Surat has nice some nice boutiques as well but not as good as bombay ofcourse. Let me know if you need any other Info. I am quite familiar with with all the boutiques and stores in Surat and Bombay…I would suggest you go to Bombay for shopping.

so how do u think i should plan my trip? i mean should i go straight and land in New Delhi from there where do i go?
i wanted to spend the first 4-5 days hopping then afterwards i wanted to take my mum and relax somewhere, book nice hotels, eat food out, watch the view of india, visit taj mahul…and look at wonderful places…etc..etc..
could someone plz tell me a good route? where to go first and so on…so i get done what im going for (shopping for my wedding) and show my mum a whole new place…:love:

Go to Delhi, if you want to visit the Taj - its only 4-5 hours by train, or by air.
Plan your trip through your travel agent - my advise is to stay near Cannought place, Delhi, which is very central and has a lot of 4 & 5 star Hotels. Janpath is nearby and is good shopping for touristy things. For Shadi stuff, Gurdwara Rd in Karol Bagh is awesome (do bargain).
For the touristy things visit the websit for Delhi Tourism they have good AC Bus services.
There is also a lot of dirt dust & povery in Delhi - so take everything in your stride. Though the urban women are fairly modern in their attire, jeans etc.

Jauhari Bazaar for jwelary
Babu bazaar, chand pol, chaura rasta, nehru bazaar, National Handloom, Sanganeri Gate for clothing (traditional)
for western clothing u can go to Raja Park.
Vijayant Market, Mirza Ismail road for electronics etc..
Believe me u want to go shop in Jaipur.... It got everything, clothes, handicraft works, electronics, this , that .....
plus u can visit the city which is a one big museum.
Also u can go to Indore for shopping..
u can go to Pakiza, Agrawal stores, Anand Marketm Fortune City, Kapda Market, Kothari market , Rajwada etc for various stuff...
also u can check out Tibet market in every city… all major cities have Tibet markets….
