When you get married and shop for makeup that you take along with you - how do you guys or like the girls you know get their makeup…do you just keep on getting a little over the years and keep it packed or do you get it when everything is fixed? and in what quantity do you guys get it in? how many eyeshadows, lipsticks, nail polishes etc…?
Oh and I’d be really grateful if someone helped me out fast…and guides me through I have to get all this stuff for my cousin whose about to get married…and my friend whose going to bring this stuff here is also coming pretty soon…
i bought my makeup last minute and it was a big mistake. should buy as you like particular colour/shade and have good collection before you get married.
i did a makeup course and the tutor who is make up artist/runs makeup school told us that makeup does not expire if you keep in room temperature...ie.. place in cool area in summer.
if one can should have several eye shadows shades and lipsticks to go with mostly suits. see it all depends how much can u afford to spend on makeup.
Yeah I was wondering that too..how early should you begin to collect makeup because obviously you cannot buy everything at once (especially if it's more premium makeup)..
Is it true that the expiry date applies from when you first OPEN the product and not how long you've had it? I.e. powder eyeshadows, blushers, etc.
I'm getting married in 2 years Insh'Allah and i've started collecting make up already, i think it's wiser to start buying make up quite early because make up is very expensive, even the lowest brands are getting more expensive because they're improving in quality, so i think it's better to collect little by little. i think 6/7 months before the wedding would be reasonable, i obviously wouldn't recommend buying anything that expires quickly such as foundation or certain nail varnishes, bur for example eye shadows, lip or eye pencils are fine
There's generally an expiry date on the product. It looks like a picture of a little tub with a number on top. Having said that, I keep my makeup for aaaagesss past what they say.. As someone said, as long as it's in a cool place then it should be ok. Things like eyeshadow, blush, nail polish should be ok for a long time. Be careful if you have sensitive skin, if something smells or feels a bit weird and also be especially careful with mascara! It's an ideal place for bacteria, so it's the one product that I'd definitely recommend using withing the expiry date.
I do recommend building your collection from beforehand, not only for the sake of saving products up but also so that you get accustomed with what products do or do not work for you, what shades suit you, build up your techniques etc. That way, you won't end up buying loads of products before your wedding that don't even suit your skin :)
i mentioned a few products that should not be kept for a very long time, like some nail varnishes can go bad depending on the brand, or face products, but things like pencils, eyeshadows, blushes, mainly powders basically, can be kept for years, it really depends on the products and the quality
another thing i'd recommend is to only buy make up that you know you will use
I think that one should buy a palette of eyeshadows, so that its easier to see all the colors at once and when you see all the colors in front you then use each and every color when needed without forgetting about it and all...same with the blushes i guess.
Lipsticks should be the ones that you normally use a lot, i.e. if you are a lipstick person who tends to change colors every now and then rather then sticking with one color only that suits you...
But in what quanity should one buy all the other things?
you have to buy makeup when you get married?? I didn't know that!! Thanks for the info, i'll too get some makeup for myself.
You can buy make up whenever you want !
there was a time when women would start wearing make up only after they get married because it was a sort of embellishment for their husband i guess... of course these days we start using more or less make up in our teens but since the newly weds attend a lot of functions and all that after the wedding, maybe that's why some girls want to collect it for that.
