Ladies I am visiting Lahore after 13yrs, I know there was a thread before that mentioned areas to shop at for various stuff along with average prices. Imagine my chock when i realised a simple shalwar kameez now costs around rs1K to stitch. oh my!
anyway. I need a few silks and some embroidery areas, are places like Auriga still around? where can i look for pure silks and some nice good quality cottons. plus some outfits to wear to weddings etc
plus anywhere for household items, such as traditional lamps and silver handicraft mirrors amd maybe some art work…

i am gatherin a list for myself as im going to lahore too for my weddin and will post on my blog .. i used to live there like 3 yrs ago so i knw the places around them .. u can pm me and ill email you as soon as im done :) ..
khi has mixed variety everywhere but for lahore .. u really gota knw the places if you have a budget in mind .. hehe and also dont forget to wrap urself up when u go out to the markets!! :P

liberty - avg budget/ull find everything here honestly - i used to shop here
link road - avg budget, not bad place for clothes n shoes
aurega - all fabrics n pathan stuff we ladies dig :D
anarkali - traditional shops and place loads of traditional clothes
ichra - bad place, wear a burka when u go here, below avg budget
defence Y block - above avg budget
city towers - heard u can get lingerie from here too lol
Pace - uh .. mall? lol .. dnt ask
Akbar chownk - near kalma chownk there is a small market - mini market - i used to go here for food and drinks lol but i think there were shops here too!
gulberg - mm alam road for designers like maria b. - if you know someone who knws this place near hussain chownk, ull find pretty useful shops here
thanks a bunch girls. i'm mostly after loose material to have light to heavy embroidery done then stitched etc. Fortress used to have a boutique called Paisley many many moons ago, wonder if it still exists.
personally i;m after some silver work mirrors and intricate table lamps. Friend will be looking for wedding shedding type of clothes.
and do we really still need to cover up that much?> i thought girls were wearing jeans there now?
dude yes girls do .. like in gulberg or places where the streets are cleaner! .. but honestly if you want to go to "bazaars" in particular - its better to blend in .. not only cuz of covering urself up but so that u dont get sky high rates!
