shopping and eating in islamabad

Hi all. I’m visiting islamabad after nearly 11 yrs and i’m super excited. Apart from the larger shopping areas like centaurus and jinnah, are there any cool and quirky shops that really should i really should visit?
I’d also love some recommendations for good eating places too.
Hoping to write a detailed post when I return

Re: shopping and eating in islamabad

For shopping G9 and G10 if you are looking for unbranded stuff (and possess super powers of bargaining). F10 and F11 have good shops as well. If you plan to go to rawalpindi for shopping then Saddar, China Market and Rabi center (and the adjacent plazas).

Re: shopping and eating in islamabad

heya so yes F-10 is one good place for shopping.. You can get all sort of things from that market... :) and in Pindi too.. the prices are pretty reasonable so u shud pay pindi markets a visit.

about eating...depends on what kind of food u like.. Cave in blue area has yummiest food... If u want some bbq and pakistani food...then u can visit bbq2nite again in blue area.. Then u have Zefras in f-7 for good steaks.. then u have Centaurus mall...the 4th floor has a variety of food available.. there are many good places to eat in isloo but depends on how much tym u have and what kind of food u like.. :)

Hope u enjoy ur tour :)

Brummie I am very fond of isloo eating options, a trip to monal is a must, their cheese naans are awesome! Omar khayyam has great Persian food, the bakery that was rahat, now called tehxeeb has yummy pizzas, and a host of other bakery stuff.
Also if you are fond of afghani food particularly their tikkas, then Kabul in F 7 is a favorite, there are others too like habibi.
Havent been too but heard good things about Des parades restaurant at said pur village.

AWWWW THANK YOU LADIES hugs,

I am super excited about visiting the place I grew up in and sharing it with my daughters. I've written down all of your suggestions and Inshallah will try and get to all of these places. My parents live right by F10 markaz and my mum reckons you can get everything there but i would love to try the G9 and G10 markets because i love a good bargain and my mum is the worlds most embarrassing haggler!

BBQ Tonight and Zefra are both excellent. Lasania and Jahangir in Blue Area are also good.

Hardys/Texas Steakhouse are good if you want to eat non-Pakistani.
