**Funny Incident :

**[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif] PUNE: Habibulla Chaudhari of Pimpri must be kicking himself for unknowingly taking on a police official in plainclothes in a movie theatre which landed him in trouble on Wednesday and unearthed a forgery done by him 17 years ago.

** Chaudhari and two of his friends, who had gone to watch the movie Shootout at Lokhandwala at Inox on May 21, was found teasing another family who had come for the movie. Unfortunately for him, Bhanupratap Barge, head of the anti-extortion cell of the city police who had also come with his family to the movie, saw the incident and scolded Chaudhari's friend. **

** Not realising that Barge was a senior police official who, during his posting in Mumbai, was part of the police team involved in the real shootout at Lokhandwala**, Chaudhari took out a pistol hidden under his shirt and put it in his waistband ostensibly to threaten Barge.

Barge called a police team to the theatre, detained Chaudhari and his friends and took prohibitory action against them.

Later, it was found that their weapon licence was obtained by using forged documents and that the German made PPK Walther worth Rs 8 lakh was bought by producing that licence.

Deputy commissioner of police (crime) Anil Kumbhare and Barge arrested Chaudhari on Wednesday for preparing forged documents in 1990-91 and purchasing the pistol.

On May 21, Chaudhari (who is the brother-in-law of a former state minister) and his friends were released after taking photocopies of their weapon licence, Barge said. "When we confirmed that the documents, on the basis of which the licence was obtained, were forged we arrested him today."

The documents of licence stated that it was issued by the magistrate of Jalpaigudi, West Bengal, in 1990, Barge said. "We provided the details to the Jalpaigudi officials. They termed the documents as fake and said that they were never issued by the magistrate," he added.

Chaudhari is a scrap vendor in Pimpri-Chinchwad and has committed several other crimes, Barge said. "The law does not allow weapon licence to a person who is below 21 years of age," Barge said adding that Chaudhari was 17 when he secured the licence. A top police officer said the police would constitute an inquiry into the matter.
