making the decision to get married, is a great big task.
how can it be an easier process for younger couples in their 20s?
any thoughts for children raised abroad?

Yes, agreed - getting married involves mature decision making - it’s not a joke.
Hmmm, how can it be made easier?
Good question, you know!
The thing is, because Pakistanis are so diverse in so many ways (different sub-cultures, castes (if you believe in them), different religions, diverse educational backgrounds and socio-economic status), it can be really tricky if you live abroad - parents usually want to marry their children in a family with similar background. Since I can only speak for myself, I’ll say that this is the most challenging part of finding a spouse here.
When I meet someone, I have to go through a ‘checklist’ just to see if I can even *think *about introducing the idea to my parents, i.e. is he Pakistani? Is he Sunni? Does he have any postsecondary education? Is he Punjabi? and on and on the list goes.
How can it be made easier? I have no clue. We need more Pakistani men around and we need our communities to organize events that attract those who might be looking to settle down. And our parents need to be more open to the idea of ‘introducing’ people to us.
