Well you must have all heard the name Shoib Mansoor. It might have been watching Fifty Fifty or on credits on Junaid Jamshed’s Album covers as he has written many of his songs. You might have also seen the name Shoman on credits of successful Drama series like Sunehray din and Alpha Bravo Charlie and recently the unique show “Gulz and guyz”.
But the question is being such a great entertainer and after making such a mark in the entertaintment industy in Pakistan why is Shoib Mansoor is so unknown around Pakistan. I mean I think he is one of the greatest names to come out of Pakistan and I haven’t even seen Shoib Mansoor’s picture.
I would be much obliged if someone who has information about Shoib’s personality could post it here. Perhaps a link to some website where there is more information would be great, I have researched alot about him, being so far from Pakistan it is hard and all I was able to find was Junaid Jamshed’s website where there is some info about him on his discussion forum but not sufficient enough even to post it here.
I remember Shoib Mansoor. But I'm forgetting much of his well known work. Been away from Pakistan for quite a while I guess. If I'm not mistaken, he had produced a lot of good plays on PTV. Sorry, don't have any info on him though.

Ali, I definitely have seen Shoaib Mansoor's work . I knew about him after I watched Sunehrey Din which happens to be one of my all-time favourites. Just watched it again last month after like 6 years. :)
"Gulz and Guyz"??? is that a new drama. If its by Shoaib, then I definitely gotta watch it. Tell me more.
Well Umar bhayee first of all I think you havent seen Alpha Bravo Charlie! You have to see that Drama series! I have never seen something like that in my life. It is a sequel to Sunehray din and the only person not in the drama is Safeer (Salim Sheikh) for obvious resons. But his Gang Gulsher ( Capt Qasim), Faraz ( Faraz) and Capt KAshif ( Capt Abdullah) are back, this drama has been filmed in Bosnia, when PAk army was serving as the UN peace keeping force there and Siachin! Its a must watch if you liked SUnehray din! Excellent acting by a new girl by the name of Shehnaz!
And as for gulz and guyz this was a documentry where different personalities go to one country and then give some info about it and then all the six celebrities came to Pakistan. These were Junaid JAmshed, Salman Ahmed, Capt Abdullah ( from ABC and Sunehray din), a couple of modles ( I dont remember there names and Fakhar e Alam ( why Shoib bhayee why Fakhar e Alam!!) Believe it or not Capt Abdullah one the contest.
You can get some info about the program on Junaid Jamshed’s website in his discussion forum, that is www.junaidjamshed.com.pk. I also heard Junaid and Shoib are also in the process of maing a new drama series. that would be great naa!!!

and I would agree the character of Shehnaaz was very very well written and whatever the name of the actress, she acted really really good! :)
Well Shahna's real name is also Shehnaz, I really like Capt KAshif's and Capt Gulshers role in the drama.
And as for Saleem Sheikh, after his roles in PAkistani movies ofcourse Shoib wouldnt have chosen him , I think it is good that he wasnt chosen! I really liked the guy in Sunehray din, but the in movies, oh my God! I was shocked to see his roles..
After 4 years there is still little we know about Shoaib Mansoor. He is absolutely positively the best Pakistani entertainer alive today. PTV is showing Sunehre Din these days and Alpha Bravo Charlie is in a league of it's own. The depth of his dramas is amazing.

Also, can someone direct me to a good site where I can buy DVDs for ABC and Sunehre Din? I have done the usual google search but only VCDs show up.
I agree, Shoaib Mansoor is the greatest talent in the history of ptv. Who can forget dil dil pakistan video and song (that first aired on 14 august, 1986 as part of a contest) that changed the pakistani pop music forever. His depth of work, as displayed in plays like Sunehray Din, Alpha Bravo Charlie, and the song and video of Ishq Mohabbat (mughal background video with Iman Ali) is just phenomenal. The ending of ABC was very sad, but it was still the best drama.
I know for a fact that in the early years of Vital Signs, Shoaib Mansoor would spend many days and nights at Junaid's house, and they used to come up with songs and tunes by waking each other at 3am in the morning! Its good to know that JJ and Shoaib are again working together. I also know that Rohail Hayat was the creative and brainy person, so I hope he is also in it.

Shoaib directed most of the Signs' vids and wrote a lot of their songs. I dunno why he's not more recognized. JJ did an great job of recognizing him in his first album. I haven't seen Gulz and Guys but heard it was da bomb.
He likes to be in the background, just like so many other great people do but i have seen him in one of the PTV awards and he ls much alike Aalamgir but more taller then him (as far as i remember)

hi! id count myself as hard core a fan of shoaib mansoor as you, but the problem ahas always been the same, the guy avoids limelight so much that even when ppl are dying to see him on tv, hear him out on radio read his views in print, he remains backstage. such is the uncrowned king of pakistani electronic media ho no doubt at all rules the local scene here and i would think of him equal enough to compete with world class professionals any given day. hes a multi talented man, and everything he has ever done has been an instant hit.
the last production coming from him was the anarkali song with iman ali. which was phenomenal!
unfortunately its beenheard that a few yrs ago he had some dispute with some top ranking PTV officials and thus resigned. so from now on his work will be private. he sepnt his entire acreer working for PTV and most of PTVs all time greatest hits to date came from him.
he has made countless lives by lanchin them into the showbiz world with his guidance.
I am especially a diehard fan of his for his work done on the armed forces as i’m a diehard fan of our forces too, and it seems he has the same passion for the military too.
ive bennhearing last couple of yrs about this film “ye baraf humari hai” being in the making about the kashmir dispute and the 20000ft and above battles that india and pakistan kep fighting in the northern mountains. it is said no other military of the world indulges in operations at that altitude. i wonder at what stage the proect is. i’d just love to meet him, work with him and if opportunity be, playing th part of an army officer would be just amazing! fanatsy meet real passion.
i just hope he keeps coming up with more of his brillinat ideas and productions. he should produce more unique struff that could be launched internationally.

Yeah. I think he was the one who introduced Vital Signs and directed a lot of their videos. The latest one I can think of is the Anarkali video, that I really like.
