Shoes, Eggs, Medals and Tony Blair

The Irish threw shoes and eggs at him at an earlier book signing in Dublin :smooth: Protesters were angered over his role in launching the Iraq War.

And now, Tony Blair will receive an award for his global human rights work in the US. The ex-Prime Minister will be presented with Liberty Medal by former US President Bill Clinton even as his newly published memoirs reignited debate on his political leadership.

Mr Clinton said in a statement that Mr Blair “continues to demonstrate the same leadership, dedication and creativity in promoting economic opportunity in the Middle East and the resolution of conflicts rooted in religion around the world.”

The medal comes with a 100,000 US dollars (£65,000) cash prize. Mr Blair will donate the money to his faith foundation and African Governance Initiative.

So what does Blair deserve more, in your opinion? Shoes or medals?

Re: Shoes, Eggs, Medals and Tony Blair

Well if people hated him so much, how can his biography sold out and tops NY Times bestseller list? He deserve a medal, he is man enough to stand for what he did. :k:

Re: Shoes, Eggs, Medals and Tony Blair

But if people loved him so much why would they throw shoes and eggs at him? Besides, his biography's popularity doesn't necessarily mean people adore him, he's a popular figure and people want to know about his life, his thoughts etc. An ex Prime Minister's biography is bound to be sold out.

Re: Shoes, Eggs, Medals and Tony Blair

He has done a lot of charity work in last few years so good for him. :k:

Besides I don’t think he was responsible for the Iraq war entirely, he had a very small role in that.

Re: Shoes, Eggs, Medals and Tony Blair

he deserves an old worn out shoe of Lemuel Gulliver which when once throwed at him strikes on the top of his head once an hour for the rest of his life.
is kay ilawa bashermi or jhoot ka saab sai bera medal bhi is ko milna chaiay.
