Its shocking to see many here disbelieve in black magic.
If the prophet (saw) was affected by black magic then, of course its real and anybody else can be.
The prophet was under influence for almost a year by the arabia's notorious magician Labid.
It was then only after Allah disclosed it, and revealed certain surahs to combat the effect, was when he recovered.
This is part of sunnis Belief.
Although I am not an extremist, black magic certainly exists and occurs as Mustana has put it.
Mustana, I have seen of similar stories. My a distant relative in pakistan, was affected by it, they thought she was mentally ill and put her in mental hospital. She recived treatment over 2 months, but her condition deterioated to the extent she collapsed and died one day.
On exmination following her death, it was discovered her 'chachi' had done it to her. This was because the girl did not marry her son.
Such a tragic loss of life.
Many a times following investigation the alleged person confesses to thier deed. I remember of an earlier life1 thread where an aunty of the thread poster confessed to doing it on her.
So it short, its very real. The same way angels, jinns nazar etc is real.
It should not be undermined, and if one has any suspicion or awkward illness, it does not hurt to get oneself checked with a legitimate deeni proffesional.

You forgot to mention raping toddlers. Recently there have been many cases where very young children have been brutally raped.
This is why my friend Pakistan has gone through a lot from floods to plane crashes to talibans bombing people. Isko kehte hain Allah ka azab unfortunately people still don't learn. They wont learn and things will get worse :) We call ourselves Muslims yet we do horrific things.

People never stop doing it...Since 2008 I'v been possessed 3 times.....they send the evil thing on my body in months of Muharram and Safar.... it never leaves easily.....
Doctors gave me strong Lithium medications (Neurolith, Revoc, Zolp). Others checked if I was Schizophrenic... took medicines for over two months with no use. my health kept going down. I was few days from death when someone discovered it was BM and stopped my medicines. We went to different Molanas.... I remember how I used to run in panic and extreme suffocation. I never sat in car with others saying it was too hot when cold outside (in winters).... I used to speak with evil in my MIND...saw different creatures surrounding me..........a time came when I was having stools on the bed.....
The only remedy is Manzil, Quran and Namaz. nothing else.....

one of the above posts said that even our prophet was affected by black magic . yeah thats right , the prophet is a teacher , infact in this case prophet Mohammad is the teacher of all mankind . so it came naturally that prohet has to teach by practical , by showing us that such and such thing goes like that . he showed us practically that how to tackle the situation and he went through this phase . otherwise no shaitan or evil can touch the prophet . otherwise we would have been speculating that whether it happens or not .
and yes bm thingy is soaring in pakistan . All we need to do is to hold onto Quran and believe in it in the real sense .

keep it with you and read when free....its very powerful.....u will feel it working and ur pressures, worries going away during recitation....i can bet on it

Reb Ruby this is horrible. I'm about cry literally after reading this. I would suggest read ayat-ul-kursi as much as you can, and blow it on yourself and your daughter. Read last two ayatien of Surah-al-Baqrah as well.
Can I ask you whats your husband reaction oh all this.

how do you know that the MIL has not gone and gotten some sort of taweez to counter the black magic that someone else has done on you and your daughter?
maybe the MIL knows of someone that wanted to have your hubby as a son in law and now are trying to get rid of you and your daughter?

Thanks everyone for ur replies. i have been away for a few days due to bad health. I have had the paper i found checked and yes, as i suspected, it was bad taweez. Im very upset and angry.
My hubby was right about his own mother. he has always had a bad relationship with her due to his upbringing and now this.
i have downloaded manzil off the net and have been reciting it. MashAllah everythin is alot better.
Didnt think she would have the capabilities of going this far.
