1- Did you even read the article about Canada I provided? It does talk about sexual harrassment also. Do you want me to copy paste that part for you?

Anyhow crimes are similar or same despite being close to you or thousands of miles away. Don't know why you are so shocked and disgusted from people doing thee acts so far away from you.
People unfortunately do end up committing crimes despite the laws present.

I am curious to know why would you be shocked and disgusted on something happening so far away from you despite the fact these crimes unfortunately do get committed by people from every place or and in every country. Have I not been clear so far?

I'm shocked and disgusted because it's not common for women to get groped by mobs anywhere. Please don't compare it with rape cases because they don't take place in public.

again, what’s your point? Egyptian issue of sexual harassment has made it to international news after the video of a woman being dragged and groped by a mob and another incident when a 16 year old was shot dead when she tried to confront the guy who was teasing her. I’m sure if something like this happens here it will be all over the place too. Please don’t undermine the efforts of those Egyptian women who are running awareness campaigns.

Did I ever undermine the seriousness of any crime or any woman’s effort to speak out against crime?
I see now you have come to the way the crimes are being committed by people.
Crimes are crimes and whether they are committed by an educated person in educated discreet way (and then killing the victim) or by people in open places, the seriousness is not any different.
The lack of the laws has never been a bigger issue in many places and despite there are laws and sophisticated methods of catching people, the crimes do continue to happen.
Even law enforcement individuals have committed sexual harassment in very sophisticated societies.
One may cite any or many reasons behind these crimes but one cannot rely on the criminals telling what the reasons might be for them to commit the crime. Criminals are not such reliable people.
Now having said that, will this suffice?

Diwana has ruined one more thread. However, I would question the BS he posted about crime rates being higher in Canada than the US. His source seems to be a pro-gun republican mouthpiece yet he presents it as factual info. Probably did a quick search on google and pasted the first thing that matched what he was looking for.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I tend to agree with pakistanimard on this. There is no denying that certain (mostly negative) aspects of a country, that the west doesn't like, are highlighted by the media for propaganda purposes. Otherwise, there can't be a dramatic shift in cultural behaviours in just 3 months. Such incidents might not have gotten this much attention if Muslim Brotherhood was liked in the west.

Agree or not, this is a serious problem. Read local paper or talk to local people or go and read Egyptian forums or fb pages etc to confirm your "doubts".

y not blaming the ikhwani government entirely but they do have a part in this by having "anti-women in power" policies.
West supported ikhwanis in Egypt and they're supporting them in Syria because extreme parties running governments benefits their plans and probably they are using such issues as propaganda but should we actually dismiss this problem just because Western newspapers are talking about it?
