Now that he has become captain and will play tests and onedays, where do you think his batting position should be? I think in onedays he should bat at #3 because he has had success @one down in the past and Younis can drop to 4 or 5 now that inzi is no more. Tests on the other hand, Malik can only bat @ #6 because with Younis, Inzi and Yousif occupying 3, 4 and 5, 6 seems like only place malik can bat. What do you guys think?

Well,
It all depends on how things pan out with the new team.
Its just might be that Younis will be permanently dropped from ODIs and then you have 2 spots to fill in the ODI middle order. His batting position will be clear once the replacements are identified.
In tests, if they don't select Inzi, then he could potentially come in at 5.
He needs some time to bat his average up in tests. He can't keep coming down at 6 or 7 to do that.

he's the only batsman in the current pak team who can actually play the new ball....
if he cant risk opening he shud come in at one down....
coming low down the order is a waste of a batsman like malik....

Also he knows how to pace an innings well, so hopefully he can play at 3 in ODI's.
In Tests where it's not as important to pace the innings he can play at 5 or 6
