SHE WORKED WITH AYESHA SIDDIQI AND KNOWS THE FAMILY (capital letters to make sure you read it this time). have you read Razzaq's statement in the press? have you read Imran Nazir's statement? have you read the statement by the manager of the team that went to India? have you read what the various moulvis are saying about the validity of telephonic nikhas? have you read what Hyderabadi acquaintances of Ayesha Siddiqi are saying about how she deceived Malik?

and beta jani, just you wait. the kind of braindead idiot that Afridi is, it is just a matter of time before he chops off his own nose. and I will be right here reminding his little fanboys about who did what and whether they deserved it or not.

if Malik's ban proves that he did something wrong. then what does Yousuf's ban prove? what does Afridi's fine prove?

I don't know if I'm obsessed but I certainly don't revel in the misery of a fellow Pakistani. if it was Afridi who got stuck in India and had to face all these nasty and false allegations, he would have my support even though I strongly dislike him as a player. but that concept might be difficult to understand for Afridi's army of 15-year old fans.

the reason why I bring up afridi is because I've read your posts here and in other threads and your joy at seeing Malik in trouble is so obvious.

Have Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik quietly tied the knot at a private ceremony in Dubai? Speculation has swirled about the two already being husband and wife from the time Malik landed in Hyderabad.

The five-star Taj Krishna has been booked only for a reception and not the nikah. That had many wondering whether the wedding ](Sania, Shoaib already married? | undefined News - Times of India)could well be over and Malik was here just for the reception.
Incidentally, Sania Mirza’s wedding card has only the reception date and has no mention of the nikah.

This twist to the endless saga of alleged love and deceit comes at a time when there’s talk of the wedding being postponed. Local community members say that Malik’s stay in the Mirza house prior to the wedding and Sania sticking to the cricketer despite allegations against him do seem to suggest they are not just engaged but possibly a married couple.

‘‘It is impractical to assume that the Mirzas and the Maliks did not expect trouble after making this announcement of an Indo-Pak marriage that too with a Pakistani national who had a Hyderabad connection. It is very likely that they possibly got married before going public with their wedding announcement,’’ said a person close to the events, recalling how strongly the Siddiquis came out against Malik two years ago when he had denied his marriage with Ayesha.

The Siddiqui family also has been trying to find out if the nikah is over. Those known to the family say Ayesha herself has been asking this question from the time she received a call from a friend telling her about Malik’s nikah with Sania in Dubai.

Shoaib all the while had been denying to the nikaah and had challenged Ayesha to come out in open. Shoaib, who is in Hyderabad to marry tennis ace Sania Mirza was accused of dumping Ayesha without a divorce because of her being overweight.

Shoaib earlier had admitted to the nikaahnama but said it was invalid since the intention was to cheat. He had said that he hadn’t met the girl whose photographs were sent to him by the Siddiqui family, purported to be that of Ayesha

Sources reveal that the compromise between the Mirza and Siddiqui family reached late on Tuesday night and that the divorce paper has been signed by Shoaib.

**Prominent community leader Abid Rasool brokered the deal. **Siddiqui’s lawyer Farooq Hassan confirmed the divorce deal, saying that the case was too strong against Shoaib. No money was exchanged hands when deal was signed.

Everywhere, this news item's been reported that this has been result of a "deal" brokered by muslim community leaders. Siddiquis have managed to save some face.

They had been cornered..they had NO proof of her pregnancy or termination. NO proof of the Qazi or witnesses, ALL they had was people calling-in from around the globe and exposing her. They had to save face.. There was no nikkah..Shoaib wanted to get out of it..

Though shoaib should not have divorced maya apa as she was a cheat but its better to come out safe n sound out of the country of insane people. I hope he makes himself clear soon in Pakistan about all the deals etc....

He never denied the Nikkah. Only thing he maintained is that He did nikkah but Siddiquis lied and Ayesha was not the girl they sent the pics off and even by Islam, Nikkah was not valid and if it was not valid, there is no question of Talaq.

He should have not cut the deal. Pathetic siddiquis were getting exposed day by day. Even to-date not a SINGLE PERSON has met/seen real Ayesha Siddiqui but I guess Shoib was (understandably) more worried about his wedding go ahead without bumps.

Siddiquis were able to do some face saving too. I am sure had Shoaib not done the deal, in next couple of days Siddiquis would have come out in Press insisting on how Islam ask people to forgive and they are forgiving Shoaib. Personally I think Sania's family had a bigger role in the deal than Shoaib.

HYDERABAD: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik divorced his first wife Ayesha Siddique on Wednesday, ahead of his planned marriage to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.

Shams Babar, a friend of the Siddiqui family, said Malik had acknowledged his marriage to Siddiqui after earlier denials.

“Both Shoaib and Ayesha have signed the divorce papers today,” said Babar.

The Siddiqui family on Sunday filed a police complaint against Malik over his plans to wed Mirza. Police questioned Malik and seized his passport, to ensure he did not leave the southern Indian city of Hyderabad during the investigation.

In her complaint, Siddiqui alleged that Malik married her in June 2002 and accused him of subjecting her to cruelty and harassment by denying that the wedding took place and by trying to marry another woman.

Siddiqui’s mother, Farisa Siddique, said her daughter’s only demand was a divorce from Malik.

“Justice has been done. My daughter is relieved and happy to have got justice,” she said, adding that her daughter would withdraw the police complaint.

S.G.M. Qadri, a Muslim community elder who was mediating the dispute, said “the issue was resolved amicably.”

“The divorce provides an honourable exit for both sides,” Qadri told reporters.

The Malik-Mirza wedding is scheduled for April 15.

Mirza ended a previous engagement to childhood friend Sohrab Mirza in January, citing incompatibility.

Malik has played 29 tests and scored 1,517 runs at an average of 36.11. In 190 one-day internationals he has 5,141 runs at an average of 34.50 and also taken 132 wickets.

Malik lost the Pakistan captaincy of Pakistan following a limited-overs series loss to Sri Lanka at home last year.

Mirza is a two-time Grand Slam mixed doubles champion and became the first Indian woman to crack the world top 40 rankings, reaching a career high of No. 27 in August 2007.

She has not advanced beyond the first round in her past four tournaments and withdrew from tournaments in Malaysia and the United States in recent weeks due to a wrist injury. She is currently No. 92 in the rankings. —AP
