I was going to address your concern Ali_R, but Sharaabi and Captain have done a good enough job. And no, a good one day player does not necessarily translate into a good test player. The converse situation is not true, however, because anyone who has the technique and the patience to do well in test matches should be just fine in mickey mouse ODI matches as well.
