shoaib-i-babi

Somerset slumped to one of their lowest ever totals as they lost to Durham by a whopping 318 runs at the Riverside.

They could only manage 56 runs in their second innings as their season went from bad to worse.

** Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar did the damage with 4-9 in seven overs to add to his 4-39 in the first innings. :dhimpak: **

check it out!!! >>>>

shoaibi on fire…

Re: shoaib-i-babi

CM, link kharab hai yar…

Great performance, I'm not really surprised though, you can only expect such performances from a world class bowler.
What sets him apart from McGrath and other good bowlers is that when he takes wickets, he takes them at a very fast rate, 2 or 3 an over or something similiar.

I think its all fluke :hehe:

good performance.....
he will be one of the deadliest if he doenst loose his touch, which he does every now and then....

National Cricket League Division Two: Durham v Somerset 3/08/2003

shoaib akhtar took **5/35 ** in 9 overs :k:
shoaib does it again!!!

Wow, alot of them were clean bowled, it would be fun to see the video clips of those deliveries going through the batsman into the wickets!!!

they still lost the match so he is still not a match-winner. very sad :~)

wah jee kiya theory hai. Saeed Anwar made a century in the India Pakistan world cup match but we still lost so that means Anwar is not a match winner. In 1998-99 India Pakistan series Tendulkar made a brilliant 136 but India lost the match so that means Tendulkar is not a match winner either. Brian Lara made 110 runs against England 1997-98 and West Indies still lost the match so lets declare that Lara is not a match winner either.

Ofcourse you can always put up the match winning efforts of the above mentioned players but I could do the same about Shoaib too and trust me he has won matches for us. The other option is you simply edit your comment and give the credit when its due.

now are comparing apples and oranges with a nut :~)
they are players of high class and caliber :~) but shoaib? well letz say he is without any class so far :~)

LM, I have to agree with EP, regardless of brilliant efforts from Shoaib today, Durham still lost the match, meaning, the brilliant piece of bowling from Shoaib did save the match wasn't really a match winning performance.

I am not arguing that.. I only objected to that comment that says that Shoaib is still not a match winner. Just because Shoaib's effort in this match wasnt good enough doesnt mean one can come out and say he is not a match winner. As for Shoiab without any class so far, well thats wrong too. I am not the biggest fan of Shoaib but he has won matches for us without any doubt. We beat Australia in Australia and Shoaib proved to be the difference between the two teams. Yes, he hasnt lived upto his potential throughout his career but he certainly have given match winning performances in his career.

A player is as good/bad as his team. Be it Shoaib, Sachin, Lara or any one else.

Agreed Asif. If Shoaib is playing for a lousy team like Durham it's a bit petty and stupid to claim he's not a match-winner because the rest of his team couldn't pull their weight. Really thick comment by EP.

Can anyone list which Pakistani player is playing for which county these days??

Same for Waqar and Sami.

BTW - Who is this Imran Tahir guy, and he is considered as an overseas player, meaning that he had represented Pakistan at one moment.
