I personally dont think he’s the strike bowler everyone makes him out to be. He’s had plenty of expereince on the ODI game two world cups and yet cant sort his line and length out. He’s so predictable. Once he gets the ball I know runs are going to be free flowing unless V’s Bangladesh. What do you peeps think ?
Shoaib is worthless. We should just keep him in Test cricket. He's actually 12 trapped into the body of a 29 year old.
Shoaib is the best bowler we have. Kicking him out of the team will be the stupidest thing PCB will have ever done.
well mate, i was at the match on sat, and i can see that shoaib is a liability.
The guy bowled crap, they were just picking him off for 4's
even rana bowled better than him and can probably bat better than him too. Even he commands a better place in the side than him
*shabi was lacklustre against the world champs' on saturday, he has been inconsitent more times in his career i would say then consistent. it's a shame that ppl of wasim and waqar's ability aren't around anymore and that is the only reason shabi's in the side becoz' of his experience which other bowlers in our side lack. we don't have better prospects in our weak domestic front back home warna shabi would be down the pecking order in no time.
i still can't remember him hitting form like he did as a youngster in the world cup 1999 held in england, when he used to storm in each and every delivery of his looked menacing and a wicket taking one, that same lust and hunger for success lacks from shabi's demeanour. he's in this for the money and fame.

I think pcb needs to put a little pressure on him to perform better. I mean this guy now thinks that his place is secure in the team no matter what because he's the world's leading pace man. Fastest bowler or not, if you're not performing well then someone else who can perform deserves your place in the team.
If you look at his ability as a cricketer other than bowling, it's not much. He's like the worst fielder in the team. Can't bat either except for that one match blitz against Australia. He's just a man who can bowl faster than other guys in the team. I think instead of players like Akhtar, we need to give someone like Umar Gul a chance, who can come forward as a bright bowler for the Pakistan team.

all players have their up's and down's, that doesn't mean they suck when they are just having a bad day
*^ bro' how often does he "knock over" sides then get knocked all over the park himself? you'll find the ratio is very bleak. the fact of the matter is he is not consistent which he needs to be, he's all fizz and no substance

Oh dear! Once a year 6-22-5 performance and rest of the seasons 8-70-1 or close to it doesnot make him what media has made him. He is sure will be recognized as a mediocre pace man with no achievements under his belt. Ironically, he has big mouth before every big tounament…that I am gonna crush that batsman or the real dual is b/w me and such and such etc…but what happens is a history. 
Right now, I would say give him another two tournaments to prove himself worth a place in the team (let alone a mega star of cricket, what he thinks of himself). Otherwise sideline him for six months and ask him to play domestic and English county cricket to get his weapons allign (if he has any). Bowling plain straight in last two matches shows he has forgotten the lessons that 2Ws gave him. Come on its England, where all of our fast bowlers have good memories.
If he refuses to play for Pakistan once he is dropped, then PCB should let him make money in county cricket, since he is in cricket for money and fame as some one mentioned, not to perform and win us matches. He always put his agenda on top of team’s achievement, that is why we see him fail more than what he claims. Sometimes he looks below Sami and Shabbir who too are B class bowlers uptil date. But still show some brains in their bowling. While this guy will show no tactics and no mind game with the batsmen, which is an element that all great bowlers used to engage batsmen in such a way that they become unpredictable as what you have in the next delivery. This guy is simply predictable.

i think we have discussed this over and over again....
And it will continue till the subject is alive. Shoaib is there, his bad form is not over yet, we are losing matches cuz of his bad bowling. So as long as the trend continues, the discussion will continue as well.
