Shoaib Akhtar

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

Shoaib did alright in the series guys.. bowled 10 over in all the games he played, was not expensive, took wickets. Even bowled with a short runup when we were behind the over rate. Did not sledge too much... whats wrong ?

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

waisay, he was up with harbagan till 1:30 ? nothing else to do in India late at night ?

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

I agree with all of you that It's his personal matter. But with what I don't agree is, that he shouldn't have had alcoholic drinks while being invited for a tour. I thought cricketers have enough brains to know, that alc is no good while having to compete in a series of games.
No wonder, his breathing times have increased from one game to another.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

Here we go again, Shoaib Akhter bashing. Such is the hypocrisy of these ppl who are eager to pull the trigger on SA while they conveniently ignore their beloved bearded hero's who did not blink an eyelid when they saw money, money, money.

Give it up guys, stop being the moral police. SA can do whatever he pleases on his private time, that is no business off mine or anyone else.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

I am not a huge fan of him .But i feel that people do bash him for whatever he does .For example when he visited an orphanage some said why he visited an Indian orphanage .

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

:( @ no schmuck word this time?

PS: :D

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

PD just to let you know, Shoaib and Yuvraj are very good friends and attend alot of parties together when the two teams get together for a series. Atleast thats what they do when in Karachi. And another fact about shoaib is that he drinks, which is his personal matter.

I dont think this shows that Shoaib does not want to interact with his own team mates off the field. Its just that he is a good friend of few Indian players and probably like to spend time with them off the field whenever he gets a chance.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

It's no more a personal matter as long as he is there to play cricket for his country on International Levels. I'd rather darn care If he'd do this while playing County Cricket Matches.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

says who?
non-muslims also drink alocohol. Do you know of any policy from ACB or ECB where they tell their players not to drink during a tour?

Re: Shoaib Akhtar - A disgusting fellow

lol you make it sound like as if gabber was coming haha

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

Yaar, It's not about muslim or non-muslim. Since I'm a sports freak I know how these things can affect your performances in tournaments, games. Normally, players, sportman avoid these things while such events. I don't know much about cricketers, but It would be really stupid to do so.
Maybe, Its high time to implement such policies by PCB, I really not care for BCCI or any other Board. Generally, this law should be imposed on every national team player. Be it Cricket, Hockey, Badminton, Squash, etc.

Re: Shoaib Akhtar

the point being missed by many is that the party was being organized to celebrate Indian victory over Pakistan. I doubt there has been any such example earlier where a player of the losing side would join the victors in "celebrating the loss" Seems like the general niazi of pakistan cricket.
