Akhtar has played in all of the last 19 test matches that Pakistan has won!
As you know, I love Shoaib Akhtar to death, but that is a bunch of bullcrap. Pakistan won in India and West Indies without him. Pakistan beat West Indies at home without him. He should have done his research :o .
^ I think the point was that Pakistan has won the last 19 games in which Shoaib has played for Pakistan. However this is incorect as well. In those last 19 games, Pakistan won 10, lost 6 and 3 were no result games.
Boy does he idolise and admire Imran Khan, Shoaib says his biggest regret is not having played under Imran Khan. Imran is his ideal captain. 'Imran was very sincere, fair and honest when it came to team selection. He (unlike other captains) was not jealous of other players' performances. If Imran had been my captain I would have been an even bigger star and would have had 400 wickets by now!' Imran gave Pakistan so many stars in the last 4 or 5 years of his career - Wasim, Waqar and Inzi etc. - and put together a winning squad that won so many matches for Pakistan in the next 10 years.'
rates Inzi more highly than Sachin, debatable I dare suggest.
"Sami is an assest, I agree with Imran Khan" - Shoaib Akhtar
"Sami is a match winner." - Shoaib Akhtar
"Port Elizabeth game is an example of Sami's match winning skills. With his pace he made it possible of us (Asif and Akhtar) to take wickets." - Shoaib Akhtar
OK...After viewing this video...I can safely say that Shoaib Akhtar is relatively an 'intellectual heavyweight' in the Pak team.
I would second that view. Of all the cricketers that Fakhar has interviewed so far, he and Imran Khan have been the most impressive by far. Yousuf I thought was n't bad either
