Shoaib Akhtar took 3 wickets in 8 overs playing in a domestic match.According to Sarfraz Nawaz who watched him bowl in Islamabad he is 100% fit and there is no reason he should have been left out.what a shame.

Abbottabad on the verge of follow-on in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy
Shoaib 3-21 in 8 overs
ISLAMABAD, Jan 7 (APP): Islamabad seamers drove Abbottabad to the verge of follow-on after sending their top seven batsmen back to the pavilion for a meager total of 82-7 on the second day of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy (Silver League) match here at Diamond Club Ground.
Shoaib Akhtar took three wickets for 21 runs whereas Rao Iftikhar and Azhar Mehmood bowled out two batsmen each.
Just saw on GEO, Safraz Nawaz’s interview from the ground as he was there to observe Shoaib’s performance. According to him he seems fully fit and should be sent for the tour to South Africa
So Sarfraz does walk the talk. A few days ago he said that he would expose PCB's lies about Shoaib's lack of fitness and it looks as though Shoaib has been excluded for purely non-cricketing reasons. Someone's pathetic ego/pride came in the way of his selection......Lao kar lao gull
But then Akhtar has a longstanding attitude problem (not wearing sponsor's logo, doing things his own way etc.) and often courts controversy thru his off field antics. He's equally culpable for the fact that he's not in the team.
question is,,, what is it that shoaib is doing that makes him so unbearable for team or captain. i dont think inzi is such an unreasonable guy , shoaib's gotta be doing something to aggrevate the situation. things like refusing to wear sponsor's logo is not helping his situation. pakistan team does need him but at what cost ? he's gotta give up the attitude !
Shoaib may have attitude problems and other issues but he still is a key cog in Pakistan's pace attack. Let's make the best of him while he is still in the game as he isn't getting any younger.
Without him, Asif and Gul are the only other fixed bowlers we have. Rao, Iftikhar are so-so, Rana is impressive in ODIS but inconsistent in Tests, and Kaneria has been averageing very highly as of, well, forever, really. In any case, SA is a place for pace bowlers.
SA are going to come at us with Pollock, Ntini, Nel, Steyn and Morkel. With such bouncy pitches, and a fragile batting line-up missing Yousuf, the last thing needed was to leave our best bowler at home.
shoaib akhtar's attitude problems are a thing of the past .he has been performing consistenly for pakistan eversince the england series at home.if they are going after him because he has gained a few pounds then thats ridiclous...he won't be aksed to run a marathon in south africa.i think Wasim Bari and Inzamam should be more concerned about their own fitness or lack theirof since they are both fat than shoaib;s fitness whos perfectly alright.

or more like kar lo GUL (as in Umar Gul ko karlo unfit takeh Shoaib in ho sakay..)
