Coming back from injury, he is doing a great job. Bowling well over 90 and his aggression is definately needed in a team that has become full of sheep.

With the World Cup coming up, Amir and Asif are likely to be banned which means Shoaib will be extremely crucial...him and Gul are going to be carrying the bowling attack.

Razzaq probably wouldnt even be able to bowl my grandfather out with the way hes been bowling.

Razzaq can only be a part timer. For ODIs he is nothing but a bits and pieces cricketer.

Shoaib has become very crucial for Pak's short term plans now. Yes he is not fit and huffs and puffs after 3 overs.. but that's all he should be doing now.. just like Tait did for Australia in ODIs recently...

Another good performance by Shoaib. I had my reservations about his fitness to be able to bowl well in ODIs but he's done a good job so far!

I think 35 is not the age when you STOP bowling ,

He was exhausted after 3 Overs and the reason for tharis He was bowling 96 MPH with a very short run UP ,He is putting Extra pressure on his Shoulders now.
Its very chilly in London specially in the evening and Pace Bowlers feel very Stiff after bowling couple of overs specially some one like Shoaib.
BUT I think He will be more dehydrated and tired in south Asian Pitches .
he need to work on His shoulder strength and loose few pounds and he should be able to play few more years .
he is Still a full package FAST , AGGRESSIVE , ANGRY and now EXPERIENCED .. what else do you want .

What does everyone think now? He has been bowling pretttty good I think in EVERY game... consistency is not usually a pak cricket thing but he's doing it..

While Brett Lee, Shane Bond and Tait are benched, Akhtar is bowling and making an impact. I said it before and will say it again, Akhtar still got game. He just need good Bowling combination.

Brett Lee is not benched.. he got injured... and is also working to come back in the side.. I wudnt be surprised if he does

Bond is not benched.. he retired.

Tait is not benched either. He played the last ODIs in England didnt he? and was used in small spells but I think he got injured after that again.

Thank god we still have Steyn.. the only FAST amazing bowler among all formats.

Yeah, that's what I am saying they are benched means that they are not playing. As for Steyn, I did not mention him for a reason.

Come on bhai. Steyn is 10 times the bowler Akhtar is. Steyn is the #1 bowler right now in my opinion, pace or spin. He's an all round bowler.. complete bowler..

If u want to compare Both

Then take a look at Akhtar when he was at age of Steyn

Right now the only bowler in world cricket who can bowl 150KMP at the age of 35 is Akhtar

Steyn is a only a good bowler in Tests

In ODI and T20 he aint that good

waleed.. i am not comparing their peaks.. i am comparing them overall..

"steyn is only good in tests".... that's what matters the most bro.. it's test cricket... the fact that shoaib doesnt play test cricket takes him out of any genuine contention.. even in ODIs and T20s he is still making a comeback after years of being absent..

i got nothing against akhtar as you can tell by this thread im glad he is back, we need more good fast bowlers in cricket..

really looking forward to steyn vs sehwag and sachin in SA this year!

Shoaib is back i know he cant perform like that when he was at his peak

No doubt its great to have him back. I wish he manages himself responsibly (i dont expect PCB to do anything) and stays injury prone for a while.. should make it to the WC at least..

Great bowling today. The Botha wicket was perfect. Dangerous bouncer hits Botha on the helmet. Next ball inswinging yorker uproots the stump. Love it !
