Lawyer sahab (whoever he is) dont understand that if they can get rid of Haiment Kurkerey, they can get rid of him too. I have no doubt that kurkerey’s murder was inside job. Someone saw the chance and did the job for hindu extreamists

AMRAVATI: About 100 Shiv Sainiks today attacked the residence of a lawyer, who showed interest in fighting the case of the terrorist arrested in the 26/11

Mumbai attack, Mohammed Ajmal Amin and ransacked his office.

Frezerpura Police said the activists, armed with canes, stormed the Vijay Colony-based residence of advocate Mahesh Deshmukh, who had shown willingness to fight the legal battle for Ajmal.

Police said the irate Shiv Sainiks stormed Deshmukh’s office in his house and ransacked it. They damaged telephone and furniture and threw books and documents out of the house. They also damaged the two-wheelers of his tenants, which were parked in front of the house.

The Sainiks were against Deshmukh taking ‘Vakilpatra’ of Ajmal when the Bar Associations all over India had decided not to take up Ajmal’s case. Deshmukh had sent his assistant to Mumbai District and Sessions Court today to request the court to allow him to meet Ajmal, who is in police custody, and express his (Deshmukh’s) desire to take his Vakilpatra if he permitted.

The Shiv Sainiks also allegedly manhandled Deshmukh and a couple of cops present at the spot. They met the office-bearers of Amravati Bar Association and requested them to take action against Deshmukh who was “acting” against the decision of the Association.

hmm.. Those lawyers can do anything for money..

I think none of pakistani will take the idea of fighting for 'hotel marriot' bomber..

Anyway, Shivsena did for publicity and they got it in this forum as well..

LET made plans. A young Muslim got arrested in Feb in UP with Mumbai maps and floor plans for Taj etc.
Information shared with the intelligence and hushed. Instead of sharing that information with interior ministry or Pakistan, they monitered the build up using their spies in LET for months. Beside other benefits from these attacks they kept their agents ready to get rid of honest policemen during proposed attacks. The terrorists start their journey from Karachi and Indians let them go all the way to Mumbai passing through their top level secuirty because of offshore oil fields.

Now who is the beneficiary in this case. Pakistan? with all the pressure and humiliation or RSS who got their enemies killed and removed from the power and whose political wings = BJP etc will have a field day in upcoming elections.

Why doesnt the Pak high commission get a lawyer for Kasab ? That way all this drama and free publicity for Shiv Sena will be avoided.

Please do not get carried away. I know it is difficult to understand on why a person would want to defend a person who has committed the most heinous crime. But that is not how the justice system works. People are entitled to legal recourse on whatever the crime it is.

Elections are around the corner and the politicians would do anything to whip up sentiments. Demonstrations of this type is not anything new in the subcontinent. Judges have got beaten by slippers and the like. Let us not get carried away by a few wrong incidents.

Now even the FBI has confirmed that he is a Pakistani. What more proof do you need ?

As far as getting access is concerned, the Pak High Commission should respond to his letter first and establish a line of communication.

Wrong! By law govt must provide a competent lawyer to accused & that goes for Marriott bomber too. If adequate defense is not provided during the trial the govt may lose the case on appeal.

First and most important should be access to Ajmal for Pakistani Consulate Gen which India has flatly denied. If he is a Pakistani Citizen (as India claims), then Pakistani Diplomats should have access to him by all rules and standards. No country can work on "he said, she said lists".

Once Pak admits he is a Pak citizen, they will probably grant the high commission access to him. However, Pak is an outsider until they accept their ties to the terrorist, and India is not obliged to give an outsider access to the terrorist.

To positively identify him as Pakistani, Pakistani Consulate Gen need access to him but you say access will be given if Pakistan accepts him as Pakistani

BTW, If we go by your logic, this means India is not considering him a Pakistani (Pakistan is outsider by you logic) :)

^ It really does not matter what Pakistan says. India has already made its case in front of the world community and thats what matters.

So now that you were unable to win the argument on the basis of logic, "It really does not matter" remind me of "angoor khattey hain" and it also reminds me of how USA proved to world that Saddam has tonz and tonz of mass destruction thingies :)

^ Welcome to the 21st century. Wars are fought and won not on the battefields but in the international court of opinion. Hypothetcially, if India were to be successful in getting Pak sanctioned it will cause you more damage than if we were to attack you millitarily. And I dont see that as a very distant possibility.
