Ive been looking at bridal makeup artists in the GTA for my sisters wedding and its quite disappointing. shirley has doe some amazing brides earier but not anymore and almost everyone is crazy about her, but I dont find her MU any special or exceptional If anything it looks average and on most brides its looks indistinct. foundation application isnt that great and some looks are something i could do myself.
Noreens makeup needs work as well and Hafsas looks a bit tacky (at least in recent pics)
what are your reviews on Pakeeza because each picture seems to be different? some i like some are too caked
Has anyone gotten their makeup done from Naila Tausif and noor artistry? your reviews on them. i havent seen any brides by Naila in person but ive heard good things. she seems experienced
are there any other makeup artists in the GTA that do professional and impeccable bridal makeup?
Its not just you. Iv3 never found her makeup to be amazing. Most of the girls I know who got their makeeup done from her looked quite dull instead of glowy. The eye makeup was okay for most though. I guess its become kind of a status symbol to get her as a MUA, because every wedding videographer makes sure to include her in the wedding video. I think a couple of years back her mqke up was better than what it is now.
I thought I was the minority in thinking the same, but after seeing my cousin's makeup for 2 days (she charged around $1,100.00 with no trial and this was 2 years back) both days I felt the eyeshadow application looked sloppy and rushed, definitely something that could be achieved by an untrained person. I've seen Angell's makeup and its good but I would still say to look around, especially if your bridal party will be getting ready with you as her assistants aren't quite up to par.
I've used both Maggie and Naila. Maggie did a phenomenal job for my rukhsati day, very traditional. I used Naila for my valima. With Naila she insisted I use dark glittery makeup for the eyes, whereas I didn't want that and my sister in law convinced her otherwise. I found with her I had to give her lots of direction, the finished eye makeup was wonderful nonetheless, once she understood what i wanted. But I found the hair wasn't that great with Naila. Naila really pushed her airbrush makeup. At the end I think you are in better hands with Shirley's team in terms of whole experience.
I had hafsa for engagement makeup and tbh it was decent. But I wouldn't use her for bridal makeup.
I used Ruchika Verma of le sonne bridal for my Mehndi and she was great too, she is q miracle worker with hair! She is expensive but totally worth it. Everyone still remembers my Mehndi hair 2 years ltr!

I ve tried Pakeeza and i found her work really well blended. she will go according to your preference of foundation thickness. but my friend used her for her wedding day for a natural look and she looked beautiful. her foundation hardly showed at all.
Shirley did my sister in law’s bridal makeup and it was phenomenal…but that was in 2007 so idk how it is now.
my own makeup was done by Dimple Shah. Her mehndi is amazing but probably costs a small mortgage now

Im new on GS but I’ve been silently following all the precious advice you lovely ladies provide :halo: Shirley is definitely overrated, her prices have jumped, and I can’t believe she charged someone a hefty amount without a trial as one of the girls stated above …I don’t see myself being able to book a MUA without a trial cuz the last thing I’d want is a mishap on the day of . I just recently got Baat Pakki-fied on Oct 11th:phil: and i’m sort of nervous about planning our mangni, hopefully these emotions will get better/stress-free soon. I’ve heard good things about Noor artistry, she apparently did MU for some commercials as well. I think she’s located in Vaughan.

My cousin got her make up and hair done by Noor from Noor Artistry and she looked beautiful. In pictures of some other brides however her make up looks too shiny and oily. Not sure if I'm the only one who feels that way.

After getting married now finally i got a time to let other people know about my experience :)
I had a amazing experience with Naila Tausif. She did such a fantastic job on my hair and makeup for my wedding days. I was so impressed with the level of service she offered to us. I will never forget her incredible kindness and suggestions for my special day.Naila Tausif is amazing! I had a lot of compliments on my hair and make-up all three days. I was so happy to have her as my wedding make-up artist. She went above and beyond to make our days extra special and I thank her from the bottom of my heart! My mom my bridesmaids were also happy for party makeup and hair they got .My mom loved my airbrush makeup on mahndi after seeing that they all got airbrush makeup J on wedding and reception dayJ
Not only was my make-up flawless (I loved what she did with my eyes). I will have no issues in recommending Naila Tausif to any future brides. She is brilliant and made me feel very relaxed. I cannot tell you how happy I was to have Naila for my makeover. She has a very calming way and she even relaxed me while I was getting ready!
I got pre wedding spa package with her too and that was amazing too.
I will highly recommend everybody start facial asap if you are getting married soon i saw a huge difference after getting facial done from her. Loved her all the services whatever she is offering i got bridal facial,Body polish, waxing etc.....

My friend recently got her bridal and engagement makeup done by Tina Sharma. She owns a salon called Beautee Inc.
Some of her work looks nice and I heard from my friend that she’s open to doing whatever the brides want and also does makeup trials.
I’ll definitely check her out next time we have a family wedding.
