**Shirin Neshat is regarded as one of the most interesting female artists of the young art scene.

The Iranian artist went to California to study art. When she visited her home again in 1990 she discovered a country which had changed entirely. With a critical and an emotional impact she reports on the cultural, social and political situation of the Iran of the Ayatollahs as well as on the social and cultural norms of western society. Shirin Neshat was awarded a Golden Lion in Venice.
I see her as a feminist artist maybe because i havent seen a whole lot of her work except for these women in hijab with scriptures super imposed ..
Guess this question has always been in the back of my head which Shirin expresses beautifully through her prints
