Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
the last quote is spot-on
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Shireen can't tell a cover drive from a leg glance. Who the fk is she to even comment on cricket. What are her credentials. Who gives a ****.
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Neither can Sheryar Khan, the PCB chief and his foreign office "retiree" cronies masquerading as "cricket administrators" and "officials"...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Dilawar Mani, Malcom Speed, ECB head, Australian et al have nothing to do with cricket on professional basis, yet they are in those positions because of their Management skills. Same as in any other professional sport, administrators do not have to be ex-professional players. Basketball, soccer are just two examples.
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
That's why ICC is such a mess, wreaking of double standards and chaos...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Finally, a sane voice.
I have been screaming this on this board for weeks now. I am critical of Sheheryar Khan's performance in this fiasco, but I have also maintained that it's unfair to criticize him for him not being a cricketer himself. That's an ass of an argument and tantamount to criticizing sports journalists for not being Test Cricketers themselves. WTF? We want experienced managers for managerial and administrative positions. This is especially true in the case of Pakistan because all of our ex-Cricketers are disgruntled petty individuals, with a penchant for playing politics with the affairs of Pakistan Cricket. Javed, Wasim and Aamir Sohail being the three biggest assholes (in this matter) of all.

Well none of these qualities are a forte or even a limited competency of Shryar kahn, he has no track record of being manager or a administrator of a mutli-national organization with a history of success and resilience...his only expertise is in sucking up and regurgitating what his masters in the have spat out...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
No offense CheGuvera, but you do sound like a very bitter person. Any relation to Aamir Sohail?
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Lets rephrase that question, why are you so adament to blindly support shrbeyar kahn are you his aspiring damaad????
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN
Funny you keep saying that while I constantly state that I am critical of his performance on this issue and that his hasty interview to press has damaged our position.
I differ from you that I stop my criticism at his performance, and you take it down to personal levels. I question his work, and you question the legitimacy of his position. Sounds an awful lot like something Aamir Sohail would do.
Should Sheryar Khan be fired?
Here is another feather in the cap of Sheryar Khan...as if the mishandling of the whole Oval test fiasco, lingering questions of corruption in the ticket sales in the Ind-Pak series of 2004, appointment of his foreign office cronies, delaying and blocking the finalization of the constitution, refusal to play India on a regular basis (thereby giving up on much-needed cash), constant clashes with regional cricket associations within Pakistan, and not showing courage and spine when needed on a number of occasion, was not enough...
I say he should be let go and in his place a person of courage, no-nonsense attitude, no history of appeasment to the goras and some cricketing knowledge, first class experience would help, should be appointed as the PCB chief...
Shahryar blamed for previous negligence against Hair
John Thakur Das
Karachi—Former President of International Cricket Council (ICC) Ehsan Mani last night revealed that despite his advise to Pakistan Cricket Board to make written complaint against Australian umpire Darrell Hair but the PCB never bothered to register its written protest.
Commenting on the infamous Oval cricket test match incident Ehsan Mani said the match ended in a dreadful way in the 129 years history of Test Cricket.
In a media interview Mani said things were not handled effectively by Pakistan Cricket Board and team officials at Oval saying “in my opinion PCB and team officials handled things in wrong and most un-appropriate manner that led things get out of control of Pakistan team officials.”
Pakistan team captain Inzimamul Haq should be knowing, the rules and should have challenged the umpire Darrel Hair on the field rather than deciding not to go on the field in protest after tea session, he assessed.
Ehsan Mani who relinquished charge as President ICC on July 7, 2006, to a question made this startling revelation “that during England’s tour of Pakistan last year, when Darrell Hair was involved in a run out incident against Inzimamul Haq, he as President of the ICC had advised PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan to register a formal and proper written complaint to ICC against the Australian umpire Darrell Hair.

Lets discuss this is another thread I’ve opened up:
Re: Should Sheryar Khan be fired?
can you give the source of this article?
Re: Should Sheryar Khan be fired?
I got the article from The News website...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN/Should Sheryar Khan be fired
Who could possibly be the next chairmain of the PCB? Most probably another retired general or civil servant.
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN/Should Sheryar Khan be fired
Lets bring back Majid Khan...Also, Mushtaq Mohammad wouldn't be a bad idea either...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN/Should Sheryar Khan be fired
Its a fact and I have already mentioned previously that appointments of people for the board are dictatated by wo ever is in the government. I am not sure how Majid Khan is viewed by this government or whether he has any supporters / contacts with the government. Not a bad idea.
I am not too sure about Mushtaq Ahmed simply because I don't think he has a strong enough personality to deal with crisis being faced currently.

If thats the case, then either Sheikh Rasheed or Amir Liaqat ought to be the leading candidates...
Re: Shireen ki talkh baateiN/Should Sheryar Khan be fired
I agree. These 2 may be good candidates. I still believe, no one can be better than Imran Khan but that is out of the question due to Imran's involvment in the politics and parliament.
we need to get rid of the management that has no experience of cricket at all. Just watching the game doesn't make you an expert.
The chairman should be the person who has hands on knowledge on both, cricket as well as mgmt. And he needs to be somewhat aggressive like Imran Khan.
