i want to send a laptop to my parents in pak. i am planning to use fedex. i have used fedex before but not for sending a laptop. it seems to charge ~130 for 5lbs which does not seem too be bad.
i am more concerned about the customs? is there going to be any issues at the customs? i would think that since it is fedex they should tell me up front of any custom related charges. has anybody tried sending electronics to pak?

incase anybody else is interested here is some info that i found:
fedex should be able to clear it from the customs in pakistan. as far as the charges go:
-no custom duty but there will be a ~20% tax charge (do not remember what kind of tax the fedex guy in pak said it was) which you or the recipient can pay.
-also for a 8lbs package fedex will charge about $170.
-also it will be good to have insurance

if i import a laptop by buying online i this other courrier will have less taxes , custom duty . etc then dhl or fedex.

dear friend pls advice me that from which country laptops are very cheap to buy.
