its a trend i’ve noticed that any argument made by shias is ended by a shair.
now whats the deal with that? its as if there is a lack of religious context to answer or support an argument and the best they can up with is a shair.
disclaimer:- any attempts to label me as yazeeds chamcha will be emphatically denided and the following rebutal will be given
** i know you are but what am I ?**
and that reply will be repeated as long as necessary.
interesting point there bro nomaan.
Well shers are strong part of Islamic history. A history student will be well aware of it.
As far as humaray urdu kay legendry shayers r concerned e.g. Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Mir Anees etc tou let me present u a very fine sher that might help me answer your curosity:
Hamseha Vird-e-Zabaan hay ALI ka naam IQBAL
Kay piyaas rooh ki bujhtee hay is nageenay say
Now thats a beautiful sher with very deep meaning. I hope u get the point why u find lots of shers said in the shaan of rasool and his ahlul bayt.
To be such a legendry shayer, u have to be a thinker and obviously these people were thinkers and could easily diffrentiate between the haq and the batil. Inhoon nay itnay sher kahay sarkar-e-do-aalam aaur maula-e-kaenaat kay baray mein, insha allah inhay ajjar millay ga wahan say jahan say yeh aayat quran mein aae thee kay: "Eh rasool, keh dou insaay kay mujhay koi ajar-e-risalat nahee caheyeh, siwae meray qarabat daroun say mohabbat......".

i'm sure these shair are mentioned as a mark of respect, but the point i was tring to make was that, they are being used to make a point in an argument, which doens't make any sense.
Zman, you have been watching too much Jerry Springer. Go listen to a Friday Khutba in any mosque in Lahore, and let me tell you, those guys put Jerry to shame. Shia Alims are the most sensible Alims among Muslims.
NYA : So you are generalizing about Imams/Alims. How much do you seriously know about Islam to qualify for a statement like that.
By the way since your hatred blinded you, let me assure you that I was talking about guppies over here and in no way talking about Shia Alims/Imams in general. So please construct your usual criticisms by first reading what I wrote.
Another thing NYA : I will not get into a
mud-slinging contest with you as you will always beat me with experience.
Another question to the Shia brethern :
Why do you'll give or say bad words about Bibi Ayesha, Abu Bakr(RA) and other Ashaaba. I'd like to know what Islamic resources you'll use that is saying all this. I would be surprised if they are any leading scholars like muslim or bukhari.....
Please don’t talk non-sense.There are many shairs in praise of great sahabis including the four caliphs. And yes they are by the same great shayers that you guys quote. It’s just that sunnis don’t have an obsession with posting them on this board.
I remember in another thread you thought I was being jealous of shairs in praise of Hazrat Ali(R.A.).What you probably didn’t realize was that I love and respect Hazrat Ali (R.A.) and enjoy shairs in his praise as much as any other muslim.Afterall he was Sher-e-khuda. I don’t know what would make you think that I would be jealous of one of the greatest Sahabis.
But you guys were only posting shairs in that thread which should have been in poetry section. There was no religious matter to discuss there so they didn’t belong in this forum.Poetry forum exists so people can exchange nice shairs.
All I am trying to point out is that you guys seem to have an obsession which you apprently think serves some purpose.Though I dunno what that purpose is…
Khair ye to jumla mutraza tha…
Coming to the main topic,I don’t have any problem with shairs when accompanied with an argument,if anybody wants to u se them, fine.
I especially don’t have a problem with it because I can use shairs as affectively myself as anybody else can.But saying shairs doesn’t make your argumnet any stronger, that’s for sure. But still there is absolutely no harm in using them.
If shias want to use shairs, nobody can stop them and I don’t see why anybody should want to. But can they please just make sure they don’t make posts which contain shairs alone? There is another forum for that.
Thank you.
