Shia beliefs

Asalaam Aliekum

It would be nice to learn what shia believein what their beliefs are about Allah, prophet, Quran, as hear and read lot of contradicting views on this subject.

Re: Shia beliefs

fatah i dont wish to indulge in sect oriented discussions. if you have specific queries i can clarify them over PM though. For a general reading on those beliefs, here is the website of one of the most widely followed shia clerics alive:

www.al-shia.com
www.sistani.org

Also, you can ask him questions, including idelogical ones. Which is a much more credible source than anyone here, however it does take time in getting replies.

Re: Shia beliefs

I did, to this day have not recieved even one response to my numerous requests.

Re: Shia beliefs

how long ago was that? i got a response in six months or so. im told its much less if you speak arabic, u can talk to the people on the telephone directly.

at any rate, the basic information you look for is on that site, which is much more credible and reflective of shia belief than random posters here. if you have any specific questions that you cant find answers for, pm me.

  • Tawheed [On **Allah **- Tawheed means Allah is One. He has no partners. He is neither born of any parent nor has He any wife, children or relatives.] [He’s Eternal i.e. He has neither a beginning nor an end. He is Omnipotent i.e. He has power over everything and every affair. He is Omniscient i.e. He knows everything. Nothing ever remain a secret from Him. He is alive and will remain alive forever. Allah has His own discretion in all affairs. He does not do anything under compulsion. He is All-perceiving, All-Hearing, All-Seeing. He is The Master of the word. He can create speech in anything as He did in a tree for Hazrat Musa a.s. and in the “curtain of light” for Holy Prophet s.a.w. Allah is the Creator of the Universe, Self-Existent, the source of all perfection and free from all defects.]

  • **Nubuwaat **[The Conception of Prophethood follows from the premises that it is the Will of Allah that every human being should pursue a defined code of life and follow certain principles of conduct. Allah therefore had to send prophets to acquaint the humanity with these principles and the code of life. Quran says : Nor would We punish without sending Messengers to give warning. Nubuwat calls for belief in all the prophets sent by Allah from time to time for the guidance of humanity. Allah sent 124 000 Propehts in all. Prophet Hazrat Adam a.s was first of them. Prophet Hazrat Noah a.s., Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim a.s., Prophet Hazrat Musa a.s. and Prophet Hazrat Isa a.s. were other prominent prophets. Our Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa s.a.w. was the last. Some prophets came with Shari’ats (Codes of life), while others merely propagated the Shariats of their fore-runners. Since the words of a prophet are to be obeyed and his actions are to serve as a guide, it follows that every prophet should be Infallible in his thoughts, words and deeds. The prophets never disagreed in fundamentals. Generally the prophets were deputed for specified communiteis, regions or periods. Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa s.a.w., the last of the Divine Messengers, was sent to express the Will of Allah for the entire humanity, and for all times to come.]
