Re: sherwani's!
I got my husband's wedding sherwani in Dec 2008. The picture I had with me was from Omar and Rabia's wedding, especially because I really liked the fitting; you may notice that it has a seam in the back. Most sherwani's these days are not fitted at all. It took me a while to find a shop that knew what I was talking about, most tried to tell me there was no such thing as darts or seams for fitting. I had a little more work done on my hubby's in the end and it matched my lehnga.
It cost about £120. My brothers sherwani's made in the same way but with less work were about £70 each.
This is what I took:
Shoulders
Chest
Waist
Crossback
Underarm Circumference
Upper arm circumference (bicep)
Neck Circumference
Arm Length
Length from shoulder to chest.
Length from shoulder to waist
Length from shoulder to knee (kurta length)
Length from Waist to floor (shalwar length)
Trouser Measurements - inside leg etc.
