Naik ji...I see we have different ways of deciding what is wrong and right...main mazhabi behas mein nahin paRna chaahita...mitti pao :); haan waqt milne par zaroor post kejiega :)wah
weteyes--it is not this sufi and baba stuff which is bidat it is wahaabism which is the biggest bidat--it is only 100 years old; the rest of the 1400 years Muslims have been following what you call bidat; if it wasn't for the sufis most of the people of the Subcontinent would still have been Hindus..ALL of the great MUslims from the Holy Prophet's Companions onwards have been great Sufis...
As for that hadith you quote--please find out what the majority of scholars have said on this hadith; alif ba taa aata nahin aur muhaddith ban-ne phirte hain; non of the classical Sunni scholars have taken the "every" to mean literally "every" otherwise nearly all of Islam would be a bid'at--even the book form of the Qur'an --the mushaf you hold in your hands right now would be a bid'at. This is what happens if you try to be scholars yourselves without having the necessary background and learning. This is why taqleed is so necessary. This is the reason wahaabism is the biggest fitna in the muslim world. For your information bid'at is defined in categories of wajib, makruh, mubaah etc. and two broad fields hasana [good] and dhalaala [evil]. Read Shaikh Nuh Ha Meem Keller's excellent article on this at Mas'ud Ahmad Khan's Islamic Site....
If you still insist that everything is a bidat then please dont bother replying; i dont want a debate on this...

btw..yuo are right that music and dance are generally haraam (but wajd is a reality and you should open up your mind --islaam is a lot lot wider and deeper than wahaabis think it is --and the rules of shar'iat for a person in such a state...are as i said above)
