Anyone?!
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
I got married in London in March. I went to a handful of caterers: wishes, sapna's and shaziana. Shaziana (the co-owner) was very pushy I found. I disliked her approach and manipulative nature. It put me off her straight away. I went to a first consultation, and from the onset did not like her attitude towards my idea's. She didn't seem bothered about accomodating MY needs and so ticked her off the list straight away.
I ended up going ahead with Sapna's - mostly because of recommendations, and creating a good relationship with the event manager. They can be very bad with communication at times which is VERY frustrating. I was actually quite worried that I had made the wrong decision because of their lack of communication as it was just such a nightmare to get through to them about the menu options, decor and other bits which I would want to discuss on a regular basis!! In the end I went to several consultations with them, sat them down and toild them exactly what I want. They have a very chilled out attitude to everything, and it does become irrating but you have to remember they are the professionals and have done a million and one events that are a carbon copy. In the end I just hoped that everything went smoothly on the day.
My wedding day was executed perfectly by Sapna's and thats no exaggeration. I left it all in Zeeshan and Sima's hands who handled everything exceptionally well. The food was delicious and displayed beautifully. The suite was decorated elegantly to a high standard. I wanted a candle lit dinner ambience and they created exactly that.
If you need any more info, I would be more than happy to help :)

Thank you Posho and many congratulations! Mashallah I’m happy it all went well for you.
This is so weird but I've actually had the reverse to what you're saying. Sapna are considerably over my budget (lowest they can offer is £27 per head) and that's just for the food all décor is on top. I agree Rizwan is a very patient and humble guy and I know 100% that they would do a fantastic event for me however Samira Ali at Shaziana has been extremely accommodating to me always keeping contact and hasn’t in fact rushed me at all because I have been dealing with her for more than 2 weeks now keeping in contact every day. The prime and only reason I’m thinking of going with her is because she’s offering me £21 per head and she has a very good relationship with the décor company that I love, Dream Occasions. So basically if I go with her I get a better price from Dream Occasions which all in all works slightly cheaper rather than if I go ahead with Sapna!
Now the only issue is I have to pay a deposit first and then have a tasting. However she has promised that if I don’t like the food then I will receive my deposit back. She has also bragged how she charges a lot more than Sapna normally and offers a more bespoke service instead of bulk catering etc etc.
Wishes the caterers messed me about so now it’s down to Shaziana now. I have asked my in laws to go ahead with Sapna or Greenleaf instead hopefully!
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
Hey does anyone have any other reviews for Shaziana?
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
Nice food from wedding I went to
Bit confusion on the service
Still was nice
Ish
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
Just a review from my wedding, Shaziana delivered on both food and service. The owner is lovely, caring and very passionate in delivering a high level of service to all her clients. So please don't be quick to judge someone straight away as during the year she always kept in contact with me and was very efficient and courteous in communicating with me! I wouldn't hesitate anyone going with Shaziana.
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
Congratulations on a successful wedding! My experience with Samira has been the reverse- she has been insulting, unaccommodating and uncaring about the requirements of the bride to be and every time something is said she will say "We deal with weddings over £22k.. you should be happy with whatever we're doing for you". When given suggestions, she would respond back straight away but intimidating and defensive. E.g. having a flower vase instead of candelabras, or having another coloured table covers other than white, she would snap back and say no we can't have that as it's not in stock, even when willing to be paid extra. The attitude did not help. It was just miserable that the hotel that was contracted required Shaziana to be the caterers.
Oh and the food was awful and tasteless! The service was bad, took way too long, the servers were talking between themselves badmouthing the guests and comparing the wedding to 'gora' services etc.
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
I couldn't disagree more with nuclearreceptor, my experience with Shaziana has been amazing!
Samira has been a blessing, helping me at a time when I was stressed from head to toe. In this world you pay for good service and Shaziana delivered for every pound spent!
They are innovative and modern and above all a cut above all other asian caterers out there
If you want a classy wedding go for Shaziana - at the end of the day, you don't get a porsche for the price of a ford people
Shaziana all the way
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
Shaziana are probably better than everything else out there. I have been to loads of weddings and seen a lot of caterers but Shaziana just seem to stand out and they seem to like doing things in a bespoke fashion, it is high end stuff and very impressive.
I don't know what they would be like to deal with but the end would justify the means in my opinion and I would not necessarily be put off by any negative reviews.
Worst caterers have got to be eastern delight (or was it eastern touch?), very bad.
Sapna have been hit and miss but they seem to have a clockwork approach where everything always looks and feels the same, one size fits all, good to a point but I got bored off it after the third time, I had them at my wedding so I kind of know what they are going to do before they do it!
Re: Shaziana catering reviews please!!!
I agree with Posho!
I used them last year and found them to be intimidating and agressive. You need to ensure you read the contract terms very carefully before committing. The contract is very one sided incase anything goes wrong. They are very keen to get you onboard, and say there is no need to sign a contract etc, and get you to pay a deposit, not realising that by paying them a deposit you have created a contract with them even though you have not signed anything and subject to their terms. They are ringing you etc putting pressure on you to pay a deposit and when you do, your tied in, even though no contract has been signed yet.
Also their suppliers are overpriced. We didnt use their suppliers last year , and as a result she made the suppliers of choice lives a hell on wedding day, threatining at one point to not allow the venue to play my cousins video, as she did not get on with videographer and DJ. They played it anyway. These people work on the top end (and constantly remind you of the apparent huge Galas and weddings theyve done and how they are being accomodating to us) and if you got deep pockets with money to throw away, then they will accomodate your every need with a stupid premium on top. Whilst the food is ok, the hassle of actually dealing with these people is horrendous.
Despite all the set backs and me never wanting to go back to Shaziana, my mum wanted to use them again for my sisters wedding only because she felt the food was slightly better than Clayoven in the food tasting we went to. What a mistake!!!!!
Again they were very pushy, and we paid them a £1000 deposit without signing any contract. We cancelled 5 months before the function (because of unforeseen circumstances between bride and groom) and asked if they could refund the amount as it was for food only for which no preps or work had gone into. They refused and were very rude on emails saying to me to take them to court, when I said that no contract is signed so they have no obligation to keep my money. They took a £1000 for simply sending my old contract to me which took 5 mins.I lost £1000 with them which im sure I will get on the day of judgement inshallah! We Will be using Sapna or Greenleaf, with whom weve had family weddings and experiences have been far far better going forward, and would recommend that if you use them, be vocal and sure of what you want!
