if shaytaan did bow down to Adam when he was suppossed to then would shaytaan be here today leading us astray?
what would happen to us instead if he did bow down?
would we all be good muslims?
would we even exist?

Your questions arouse curiosity, but only Allah has those answers. Allah knows best.
But he did not bow down out of arrogance, and pride. So shaytaan and we are all here battling it out. Shaytaan exists, we exist, the hereafter awaits all. Let us make sure we keeping bowing down to Allah (swt), and not replicate what Shaytaan did. Let us ensure that we do our best to attain taqwa using the righteous among us as role models until we meet the Creator who will reward or punish us; surely we hope in Allah’s mercy and seek refuge in Allah (swt) from His wrath due to our wrongdoings.
Do good now, so that you can ask Allah (swt) all the questions directly in the hereafter, and get answers from The Source of all that is destined.

In my opinion - No - we would not even exist
Although we must be careful about issuing our opinions in such cases, I have done so here because there is hadith which tells the meaning if Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala did not have anyone to forgive…another creation would be created which needed forgiveness
There is actually only one course of history and future that has happened or will happen
Adam, and The Angels Peace be upon Them, and The Light and Prophethood of Our Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam were already created when this incident took place. It was just a part of what is contained within Al-Lawh e Al-Mahfooz. So both the History and future had been written *
So questions about if it did not happen are very difficult to answer for us, as there is only one course of history and future*

There is something here that i feel needs a mention. Feel free to correct/add something
Iblis [the rejected] refused to bow to a Nabi, a Prophet. However in our shariah we are not even allowed to bow to a Nabi. Now there would be seemingly a similarity between us and ibliss
I think it was Moulana Mufti Hanif Qureshi who explained that although we do not physically prostrate to Prophets, our Heart remains prostrated/bowed to RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi wa Ahlihi wa Sallam [and thus the Prophets]
This is what separates us from the accursed in this respect
Many other Imam have said that misguided people would be likely to show disrespect to Prophets. So the Believers are those who do not show disrespect to Prophet Peace be upon Them, the Believers Venerate and Honour them

Allah has complete power over everything. (284) surah Al Baqarah
So He only knows what would happen

In the early part of Surah Al Baqarah, Allah answers those questions. When Allah tells His angels about His creation, humans. The angels ask this question: Will You create such a thing that is capable of creating fitna on Earth, and what would purpose would that serve.
Allah responded as saying: You DO NOT know that which I know. Allah points to the angels that they do not have knowledge to name (perceive cognitively, conceptualize, etc) things that which Allah has not enabled them. Then Allah makes it clear that Adam has the ability of naming.
Essentially, the purpose of Adam and disobedience of Shaytaan are linked, and clear knowledge if withheld by Allah as it either: Does not add benefit to our social economic frameworks, or is not necessary for our conceptual theological understanding of our relationship with God…
..Or I just don’t know that Allah has revealed more clearer answers somewhere else in the Quran.

This question is hypothetical and will only render hypothetical answers … It is better to ask questions the answers of which will benefit you in the Hereafter. But anyway … I would say yes we would still exist, because Allah (SWT) declared in the Qur’an that He would appoint humanity as the representative on Earth, before the slip in the garden … Also, we have our nufs even if we don’t have Shaytan as our enemy … Which means we could still go astray.
