Shaving

I’ve always been one for cleanliness. One of the things that I relate to this is removing pubic hair. I was told from my teens that removing the pubic hair was ‘sunnat’ but over the years it has become my personal preference rather than anything to do with Islam.

I know that some women in particular pay attention to this.. Do many men?

What function does pubic hair have on our bodies? and are there any reasons not to do this?

Ya man, the old moustache trimmer is now multi-purpose... Thats lucky coz i aint got a moustache !

Women do take care ... men less so. Some are completely unaware of such things !

i dont think its just a sunnat,
its compulsory.
but i,m a bit confused about the zair e naaf thing… cos if it starts just below the naaf, then its like shaving half of ur stomach too…

for me its below my stomach..
wat do u guys think,
i think zair e naaf means generally the pubic here down there, not necessarily starting all the way from the naaf itself…
wat do u say?

gotta do some research..

Wouldn’t u pay attention if pubic hair are blonde ?

LOL

It is compulsory to shave off pubic hair as if you do not remove it or trim it down to something smaller than a grain of rice you Namaaz cannot be performed/accepted. Pubic hair, hmmm...not quite sure what its there for but you have to clean it off. Also, you must not prolong shaving pubic hair above 40 days. I've heard it almost everywhere, I don't have any sources to back this up but I'm pretty sure you have to shave.

Problem sorted. I’m now Sunnah-compliant

I have a question to ask Allah Mian and that is “Ya Allah Mian, If You wanted to get rid of it for You and Your Namaaz, why did You give it to us in t/ first place??” I’m confused

Allah also gave us brain to use it, right ?

http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/wink.gif

Allah also gave us choice of picking/doing ‘halal’ and ‘haram’, even though he does not like ‘haram’ at all, why? to test how much you comply with HIS commandments and follow his beloved Prophet PBUH.

Are there any medical facts to back this up?

Well I did a search on google.com and apparentyl shaving the pubic region does no harm to a woman (according to several medical sites). So I would presume it does no harm to a man.

Besides, if there was any medical harm in removing pubic hair then it would not have been recommended by the Prophet (saws).

Changes like jii: *llah also gave us brain to use it, right ? *

Hughhhh?? I fail to see any corelation b/w my question and your answer, specially t/ above statement!

i think i speak for all the women when i say this…Men are not supposed to shave, women are not either cause they say god gave it to us and we shouldn’t remove it but what can we do? It’s part of life. As for you cooldude, shave your beard and moustache if you want, no where else.

i am sugar spice and everything nice, before messing with me U better think twice!

how can some guy not shave? it gets kinda itchy and smelly and sweaty(since its not exposed) during hot weather if i dont.. its just better to shave it..(apart from it being a sunnah)

I have a question to ask Allah Mian and that is "Ya Allah Mian, If You wanted to get rid of it for You and Your Namaaz, why did You give it to us in t/ first place??" <<

An argument just for the sake of it.. but i'll answer it anyway.. Allah gave us hair on our head too didn't he? We're supposed to trim it down so there's a distinction b/w men/women.. then there are nails which grow and are supposed to be trimmed every so often.. all these things basically differentiate b/w a well-groomed and a careless person..

why did Allah give it if we're supposed to shave it off anyway? well, for one, it 'signals' puberty.. and, also cuz we're not robots, we're supposed to work for our perfection so we're not born/made perfect..

and this >>Allah also gave us choice of picking/doing 'halal' and 'haram', even though he does not like 'haram' at all, why? to test how much you comply with HIS commandments and follow his beloved Prophet PBUH.<< written by changez explains it well too..

Well, in my personal opinion its rather disgusting to let your armpit pubic hair grow amuck. To shave/trim is a must and correct me if i'm wrong its Fard to do so.

I apologize if this question sounded rude to you. But, you could have cor-related it with other commands as well which we may not understand and we have to follow them. Ever thought about ‘ghusl’ after ‘ejaculation’? you can still be ‘clean’ if you just washed your genitals, right? but why Allah asked us to take shower/bath? without ‘ghusl’ you cannot do so many things. While ‘ejaculation’ is also a natural thing which may occur for any reason, ever complained about that ? (if you are female then you got different reasons for ‘ghusl’)
