Shaving one’s Beard

:salam2:

Partially or full. Is it allowed or not? Have you ever came across such issue or involved in this discussion? Please share your experience :hat:

It all depends on which branch of Islam you follow. Some will say yes some will say no depending on which branch of Islam they believe in.
Islam is one religion but people will always interpret it differently.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Peace thedoer,

By keeping the Holy Book Qur'an and hadith in our mind, is it allowed or not? We'll discuss later on about branches.

Shaving one’s Beard

As far as i know and do correct me if I am wrong then nowhere in the Quran is it mention that it is haram to be clean shaved.

About Hadiths again some people believes in them some don't some believes in some Hadiths and some on others. So branches again

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

As far as I know, keeping a beard is "recommended", but not made compulsory. Like a wise person has said "islam mein darhi hai, daarhi mein islam nahi".

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Peace thedoer & obaid1982,

As per my little knowledge, in various hadiths it is narrated (said), recommened and ordered us to keep beard and trim moustache. Also further narrated that there will be peoples who will recite the Qur'an but it will not exceed their throats and they will go out of the religion Islam because they don't kept beards.

I think shaving one's beard is not allowed in Islam.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Every branch of Islam follows the Quran and the hadith. The 4 madhabs of SUnni Islam all follow the Quran and hadith and still arrive at different conclusions on many issues.

Mad sclentlst that was what I was trying to explain. You did a better job explaining than me.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Peace MS,

I agree that the conclusion of four school of thoughts may be different but I think it is our duty to read all narrations of each and do/follow what is best/correct. I read a narration that one who resemble to others are not one of us. That what actually kept me pondering that if we shave our beards, are we in any case resembling to others? and by further searches/reading I came acorss few hadith as stated in post #6 which sounds more thaat shaving beard is not allowed.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Walaikum salaam brother LK!

Firstly, I'd like to say Allah forgive me if I should step outside the bounds of what is permissible and say something wrong.

Secondly, I believe that keeping a beard is the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.), and subsequently the Sahaba (r.a.) all kept it following in the footsteps of the beloved Prophet (s.a.w.).

When you love someone, you do everything for their sake. You dress as they would have liked to dress, you speak as they would have spoken, you act as they would have acted, and most important of all, you worship who they worshipped (Allah alone with no partners). It is after we have attained that immense love, that following in the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) would become compulsary; rather we would make it compulsary for ourselves because we want to follow in the footsteps of our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) even in appearance as much as possible.

Through following of the Sunnah, we attain Allah's mercy and pleasure.

I have the same view about Hijab, though I don't feel my view is correct in the light of what Islam requires. I feel that you should keep a beard when your heart compels you to do so, because then and only then will you feel the sweetness of following an act, otherwise it would be a ritual.

Allah knows best....these are just my views with my very limited knowledge on the subject.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

Peace,

My colleague current salary is around 530 US$ and he got a better job offer of 1200 US$ approx., but he refused b'coz they wants him to shave his beard. Once I told him during the probation period of 90 days, remove it and once u'll selected permanently then again keep the beard but he replied to me "What Almighty Allah given me is sufficient though I needed more but in this salary, I keep pray/ask HIM and may be after getting more I won't do that (means no pray no asking).

Whenever I remember it, I feel embarrassment.

Re: Shaving one’s Beard

oh great man he is.....

say my salam to him....:)

I’m very thankful to Almighty Allah after that to my colleague who share with me great knowledge of Islam. Moreover he’s very strict on timining of prayers whereas i’m lil bit lazy so he scold me if I show laziness
