I'm not surprised that emeriging Palestinian businesses in PA controlled territories prior to the Intifada are news to you. Being with an American business that cultivated such contacts among both Israelis and Palestinians and expended significant resources in the area pre-Intifada, I KNOW they were there. I know the revitalization projects were ongoing because I saw them. The problem with many people (not necessarily you) who like to offer opinions on various subjects is that they have no first-hand, practical, personal experience or knowledge about the people, places and events they are commenting upon.
I don't for a moment believe that you think the level of Palestinian violence and suicide bombings in the period immediately preceding the current Intifada is the same as or near the same as it is post-Intifada. Neither was the level of Israeli violence against the Palestinians the same.
Regarding protests, I guess you and I mean something different when we talk about Americans "protesting in the streets." I thought you meant protests by some meaningful number of people, not a few dozen folks who carry around signs on a topic. I interpreted your earlier remarks stateing that Americans did not protest against the Likud party like they protest against other international news implied some meaningful number of people took to the streets on these other issues. The link you provided about a few dozen environmentalists protesting some Russian's detention for treason proves the point I was making. Regarding Austria, Americans most emphatically did not take to the streets protesting any political party in Austria. Could a few expatriots or Austrians in the US have engaged in protests? Sure.

I gave you a reason why suicide bombings were limited at that time.
Read in my previous post.

It was just an example, dear. There are many more and when I was refering the Haider's party, it was a protest starting from venice til US.
Those protests were orginazed by Israeli/Jewish ppl and pacifist. Even some left wing parties did support those rallies.

The vast majority of the Israeli people returned war criminal Sharon and other right-wing extremists to power, so it they that are primarily responsible.

Actually the vast majority didn't vote for Sharon Malik, his party just happen to get the largest % of votes over all, the majority of Israelis voted for several different parties.

Read my post again. I'll bold the part you missed this time - The vast majority of the Israeli people returned war criminal Sharon **and other* right-wing extremists to power, so it they that are primarily responsible. *
72 of the 120 seats were won by a war criminal and his right-wingers, Jewish fundementalists, extremists and settler supporting parties. Thats exactly 60% of all seats in the Knesset, and over 2/3 of the Jewish seats in the assembly.
