Give me one reason why the Israeli soldiers should have cared when two Arab groups are fighting each other?
Oh you can say that the Israelis, by doing nothing, were morally wrong. But in war, politics, morality is put aside.
So tell me, what political benefit would Israel have gained if they stopped the murdering Lebanese Christians?

He was indirectly responsible to an extent, and even that is hotly disputed. He might have been able to stop it, but he didn't. But he was not the mastermind of it. The blame should rest squarely with Elie Hobieka, the commander of the Lebanese forces. Hobieka would later be a Lebanese parliament member, as well as a cabinet member.
