I'm not married yet, but I think you should do what pleases you & have a good time. My father always laughs when he sees his & my Mom's wedding pictures because my mother is looking straight at the people around her (or the photographer) or has her head just very slightly bent down, but she's smiling & you can tell she is enjoying herself. My Dad says she just didn't do the whole sober, modest looking at the floor thing & no one said anything to her because she was clearly so happy (& so was he ;D).

Thats sweet :)
When my Nikah came around these thoughts also crossed my mind and I was nervous because I didn't know what I should act like and no one had mentioned it to me either. On the day of when I was coming out under dupatta after the Nikah had been read I kept my head down (felt awkward) but I did it anyway to be on the safe side lol, and was trying to stop smiling eventually my aunt told me to look up and stay up and smiling into the camera lol. So now that I went through that I'm not as nervous about it anymore and I can actually enjoy my wedding. Plus I'm the type that if I'm happy or find something funny, I have a hard time pretending not to be happy lol so I imagine at the wedding if I was told to keep my head down, but not knowing how to control looking happy...it would of looked quite awkward. Bride has her head down but is smiling the entire time anyway haha. Plus I know my fiance definitely would of been making fun of me on stage trying to make me laugh even more...haha No shrmaying it is :) Enjoy your wedding ladies, and if your moms insist definitely keep it down when shes around but then crack a smile here and there too :)
Lol thats so funny! I dont know why people still think like this! Every wedding we went too my dad would go on stage and make the dulhan laugh so much! Its time for laughter and happiness. Its a amazing day. Good luck! x
