I watched 5 min’s of this documentary on national geographic while vacuuming the room and Its so cruel :hinna:They chop off the sharks fins and dump the body back into the ocean to be eaten alive by other fish or drown.
Is it justifiable?

Demand for that crucial ingredient has led to the killing of a median of about 38 million sharks a year, according to a new study that offers what may be the first reliable estimates of the number of sharks killed for their fins.
The United Nations has estimated that only about ten million sharks are harvested each year. Some conservationists, however, put the number at closer to a hundred million.

Don't underestimate the power of a bowl of good soup!

Seriously though, in terms of the natural world and our predatory nature it is justifiable. In terms of conscience and awareness, it probably isn't.

It's horrible :( . I seriously don't know how this is legal. humanity has put many species at risk :(

It is estimated that 73 million sharks are killed every year as a result of bycatch and the vast international demand for shark fins for soup. Thats three sharks every second!
