The guy resembles Shoaib Akhtar more than anyone.
A job well done Pakistan! :k:
No one expected them to come through but they made it.
Eventhough we saw some great on field performance from the Pak players but the main credit should go to Rashid Latif, Javed Miandad, and Haroon Rashid. They have completely turned the team around.
What is even more joyous is to see the captain giving confidence to the young players by putting them in difficult situations, and most of the came through very nicely.
Unlike the past, this victory was achieved by every single player in the playing 11.
Every match there was a different person, stood up and performed for its team.
In the first match against Zimbabwe, it was Younis Khan, Razzaq, and Umar Gul taking the honor.
In the 2nd match it was Muhammad Hafeeq, Yousuf Youhana, and Naved ul Hasan taking the honors.
In the 3rd match it was Muhammad Sami, Shoaib Malik and Mizbah ul Haq doing the job for Pakistan.
And today it were Sami, Malik, and most likely Taufeeq Umar who struggled badly throughout the tournament.
I very like this team but the unfortunatly its going to take a little more to stack up against the top teams.
The bright part of this tournament was fielding ofcourse but the batting was brilliant as well. Usually in Pakistan’s case, when the top order collapsed our wickets kept failing and we would be dissmissed for a very cheap score but in this series we had only 2 top collapses and both were overtaken brilliantly by the middle order batsman.
Guys like Yousuf Youhana, Younis Khan and maybe Inzi have already taken the middle order and we have seen some great contest for the 4th spot from the likes of Faisal Iqbal and Mizbah ul Haq, and not to forget the great contributions from the lower middle order batsmans like Shoaib Malik, Rashid Latif and Razzaq.
But mainly Rashid Latif is the reason why we were so successfull, he is a make of a very good captain but unfortuantly its only for 1 year.

Latif worked the team hard on the match and in training :k:
Pakistan youngsters delight Latif
**Captain Rashid Latif hailed the next generation of Pakistan stars following his side’s victory over Zimbabwe in the Sharjah Cup final. **
The selectors gambled by leaving a number of established stars including Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Wasim Akram and Latif’s predecessor Waqar Younis at home.
But the new-look team won all four games at the desert venue, including an eight-wicket triumph in the final.
Latif described his side’s performance as **“very encouraging”. :k: **
He said: **"When we came here, we were without superstars, but we are returning home with new stars, who will become superstars.
“Mohammad Sami, in particular, is shaping up as a world-class seamer. He gave us the vital breakthroughs early in the game, which effectively swung the match in our favour.” **
The batting also looked good with six different players making half centuries during the competition, with two each from Yousuf Youhana and Younis Khan.
**"I am proud the way the players performed over the last week. But now comes the hard part because they have to maintain this standard in the future.
“It’s no use winning one tournament and failing in the next. We have to be consistent,”** :k: :k: coach Javed Miandad commented.
Pakistan now head to Sri Lanka, where they will take part in another triangular one-day series next month, also involving New Zealand.
That will be followed by a trip to England in June for the three-match NatWest Challenge.
I have two letters for this one… ** E T **
