Sharif meets Imran to discuss peace process

Re: Sharif meets Imran to discuss peace process

This is the predicament I was trying to highlight. I also have been supporting PTI and flew to Lahore on May 11th to vote for the party. But I do not feel aligned with IK’s stance on the TTP and I have been questioning it openly instead of closing my eyes and shutting my mouth. In this case, we both support PTI but speak against its policy on terrorism. My main complaint is that followers of other parties never go against their leaders come rain or shine. This kind of attitude is detrimental to the true spirit of democracy.

The other question is should we leave the party for one issue, disregarding the standing of the party on other issues where it is right? Imran’s pledge for a transparent and efficient government remains intact as we see it in KP. Only yesterday he warned his entire team to pull up their socks or get ready to leave the government. Do we hear the same thing from Zardari on PPP’s performance in Sindh? Had ANP voiced the same? MQM has been in power for over a decade in Islamabad and in Sindh. Fazlur Rahman ever told his men to leave any government for poor performance?

This is where PTI stands tall and that’s why I am willing to give it the benefit of doubt. Having said that, yes I would want IK to change his stance on terrorism.
