I will blame those who represent democracy in pakistan. We talk about democracy in pakistan and these are their representatives. Theres no Angel Gibrail standing up for elections.
The people voted for these parties and are therefore voting for their corrupt deals.
Democracy has a bad history in Pakistan - the people constantly vote for thugs, all tried and tested too.
Everyone knew Zardari was going to go for the presidency. Everyone is just surprised he waited so long.
NS islikely to win the next election. I doubt he will lose any of his Punjab votes/seats. In fact any of those who gave PPP a sympathy vote will probably vote PML-N next time.
PML-N/NS will most likely gain more seats/votes in NWFP too - slowly people are becoming disenfranchised with the ANP-PPP coalition there. NWFP has been a great swinger - MMA in 2002 and ANP/PPP in 2008.
It could successfully bite into the ANP-PPP vote bank.
In Sindh the PML-N will need to make amends with the MQM, contact already established. the MQM are needed and to retain power they will probably accept.
Even though PML-N is more or less a Punjabi party it has gained a lot of respect nationally due to the CJ issue - all it needs is some good candidates in Sindh, Balochistan NWFP. In Interior Sindh and Balochistan a lot of hard workd needs to be done.
Other alliances depend upon who else will contest - PTI, JI, JUI,baloch parties - all will make alliances with NS.
The people did not vote for Salman Taseer or Zardari. They are the fruits of the deal hatched between Musharraf and the gaddi-nasheen of the PPP, and the NRO. Why do you think hes still sitting in the Army house despite being a war criminal, and is escaping the penalty of treason according to the constituition? Why is the Zardari Judiciary letting him off the hook?

Well the action is sad. But if Sharif Brothers are really patriotic people, they should be content and run their party as party leader only and let other good people of their party to come forward and take the position of CM or PM.

Watch the news channel: Nothing is happening in Sindh, NWFP & Baluchistan. PML-N just become a punjabi party, period. Their is not even a single "Jalsa" or "Jaloos" anywhere except punjab, what it shows? Or you too naive ?
Muslims leagure on the whole can't do street politics, that's only done by PPP. PPP calcuations are base on this, they know PML-N can't take out people.
One more example: When ZAB was murdered by court trial, PPP was the largest party in whole Pakistan, they can't able to do anything. Same goes to current situation, nothing will happened, Nawaz future is totally finished. Shahbaz have to play on federal level now. That's it !

well i dont have much confidence in dogar courts but i believe if any ABC goes to supreme court the decision of Governor Rule can be put aside as there was no justification for that...The governor rule is against the fundamental rights of the people of the province and the court should have taken Suo Moto action themselves...even if Shahbaz Sharif was disqualified some other person could have taken over...
now PPP is counting on Q League (according to Zardari, Qatil League)...keeping in view how PPP has stabbed PMLN in the back I dont think many in the PMLQ will trust them now...in case PMLQ leadership decides to allign themselves with PPP I see division in PMLQ and with it the demise of the party for all...

Who is Iftikhar Chaudhry.... just a pakistani and the Cheif justice of Pakistan , He is not Balochi, Sindhi , Pathan or Punjani... He is CJ of Pakistan and why he was removed ..... only for SOME PERSONAL INTERESTS , not for National interests, and the Dogar and His Team Background is known to every one in Pakistan.
Zardari can do any thing in Days, one year is very long period...... When He can say Categorically that ..... Agreements are not QURAN n SUNAT..... from there we should understand his Character and INTENTIONS.

I think CJ Chaudhry was no saint. He was happy to take oath on Mushrrafs 1st PCO. The guy is anything but model for judiciary, but I think Zardari & NS are harming the country & its fragile democratic system.
BTW, wf we truly cared about independence of judiciary than we should get rid of all these stupid judges & reappoint all new judges including new CJ...judiciary must be given its own budgets, appointment of judges must be taken out of politician's hands & given to something like judicial commission or something like they have in UK and other countries...

You are right , about Iftikhar how much he was happy with Musharaf for about 3 Years i think or many , but suddenly i donot know what wrong happend that Chaudhry reverted and these two (chaudhry and Musharaf) came into battle and did not care for National interests and personalize the issue.
But as you have pointed out that HE IS MODEL FOR JUDICIARY, that is why we should do rais our voice for HIS restoration.
Of course our Judiciary needs immense amendments , and indipendence , But you know .................

What are you implying. Either Pakistan army is very popular in Pakistan or either army is pulling the strings and politician can only come to power by collaborating with army in their manupilations and misdeeds. Although one can gain some short term benefits by taking this route but to make any long term roots in public is impossible like this and the example of Pervaiz Elahi is in front of you.
Please do not forget that Pervaiz Musharraf inspite being the army chief became a lame dog and eventually had to go in a rather disgraceful manner.
Don't be so sure about the seats. Please don't forget the fate of Q league. Don't forget stalwarts like Hamayun Akhtar got less than 3000 votes during the last election. Media and Public opinion is the eventual source of power for any politician and Mr. Zardari has proven that he might be a shrewd manupilator but he is far from being a politician. His wife was a different story as she always had a pulse on public mood and her power source was eventually the public. I predict Mr. Zardari's career as a politician is going to be very short one and a very unpopular one as well, and his fate will not be very different to Musharraf and Ziaulhaq.
As far as Sharif brothers are concerned Mr. Zardari has turned them in to a monster. Do you think his team headed by Salman Taseer will be able to challenge Sharif's in Punjab in the next elections. Mr. Zardari is just walking in to army's trap who are conspiring to malign the politicians in Pakistan to continue their grip on power.
Please don't forget that lawyers movement has created enough awareness in Pakistan and media has become a very important player in mobilising public opinion. Musharraf underestimated the power of public/media and did a big mistake. Zardari is doing the same.
if anyone thinks there is any permanence to this you sadly have too much faith in pakistani judiciary as an institution.
so long as nawaz and his brother are a political force, this is meaningless. it will be reversed whenever they come into power and get to appoint judges they like. Ofcourse then, the roles will be reversed. Those gnashing teeth about judiciary independence will be dancing in the streets.
Im one to take things on a case by case basis. I see no need for one murderer to see justice ONLY when all other murderers see justice. Im all for selective application of laws towards criminals, since its better than no application of laws towards criminals. The kind of thinking that its unjust because zardari isnt also disqualified is beyond me, since it implies that you let all criminals free because you cant punish one. So, its a bright day for me, for however long as it lasts. In a fair world, the jackass would get much worse than a disqualification from politics.
