Secular education explains what interest as used in the American system IS, and HOW it works. Secular education does not say that such a system is the ONLY and BEST way to go, at least I've never been taught that. In fact, in the American system, you're able to learn about any economic philosophy/system you want, and if you support it, there is no prohibition to. There were people in my classes who argued in favor of socialism and even communism. They didn't get F's either from what I recall.
That point is a side issue though - the real comment I want to make is that its amazing we've got sharia being pushed in non-Islamic countries...and yet we can't get it right in the muslim countries.
