Heya guys, I’ve got a vey sick server. Below is the log I am getting.
"#50070: Unable to connect to the database STS_Config on SERVER\SharePoint. Check the database connection information and make sure that the database server is running.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
Its a SBE server with the normals running.

I am having the same problem. Did you ever resolve your problem? If so, what did you do to fix it? Are you running Backup Exec on your server? I am, and I think it is related to Backup Exec. Thanks.

After following several threads, I found out that this error is related to the company's internal website that is maintained on the server. In my case the service "MSSQL$SHAREPOINT" was disabled. I started the service, and the error went away. Maybe this will help you.

Thanks for your reply. Problem here was, two different applications trying to use mssql. Antivirus and database also on exchange I forgot to exclude things that sophos had recomended.
