closest i had to a panini in the home is a breviille sandwich maker, presses the 2 slice of bread with the filling of your coice in the middle, usually cheese and some vegetable like tomato.

at the end of the day its just a toasted sandwich. whats to get excited/fascinated about? toast it and eat it , enjoy!
