I am just giving credit where it is due. Yes I am aware that the modern democracy is based on the Greek model but it was hardly a ground breaking idea that the Greeks or Romans invented. My point was simple, the civilizations before were also quite advanced and a lot of things have been borrowed and then expanded from there. That doesn’t mean I am downplaying Greek’s contribution but remember history is written by victors thus always biased.

There is always a reason for being victors though. For a philosophy and a system to be valid and relevant and thriving even after 3000 years is amazing. Socrates, Aristotle,Plato, Pythagoras were unbelievable. A mere book brought over to Europe changed the course of humanity. Indus, Egyptian, Inca civilisations have not really effected our current lives but the greek philosophy has.
