Share interesting historical fact of your city where you have lived

I am opening this thread in world history section because lot of people live out of Pakistan too.:slight_smile:
I have lived in three or four cities and I will start with my current city which is not so old .:hehe: No need to tell city name just share some historical interesting facts.

Here is my current city’s fact :

**In 1888, one of those settlers, U.S. Army Chaplain Winfield Scott purchased a 640-acre parcel of desert land for $3.50 an acre.
